The loch itself is packed full of fun things to do, including sailing, canoeing and fishing, making it a real hive of activity for your escape. A short drive away, explore Castle Douglas (11.5 miles), a well-known tourist town offering tasty treats and locally sourced produce across grocery shops, bakeries and local eateries – a renowned foodie destination.

On arrival, stop and take in the immense sense of peacefulness that this property affords, admiring the views across the surrounding parkland and acres of land. Venture inside and pause in the utility room, a space for stowing coats, boots and any other outdoor equipment – a handy WC greets you here after a long day of walking. The kitchen is a bright, welcoming space with painted cabinets, pastel tiles and an original Rayburn cooker, positioned next to a casual dining area for breakfast and light meals.
