We were only using as a base to stay at when visiting family around the area. The cottage itself was lovely and clean. The only downside is the fire has to be lit for to get hot water and we were there in the middle of a heatwave. Apart from that it is a nice place.

The cottage itself is very clean and comfortable. It has a wood burner which supplies the radiators and an immersion heater for the hot water. Access to the location is the main problem. The condition of the surrounding roads is appalling. Which is a great pity, as it’s a lovely area.

Lovely location, and environment. Cottage is spacious and well equipped, large garden with amazing views across the Solway. Can be cold and hard work, keeping the fire going for heating. Maybe needs bringing into the 21st century, but for character and atmosphere it works a treat.
