We had a lovely stay at seaview the house was very clean and the beds and sofas are very comfy. The view from the paved garden was great it was lovely to sit out and watch the boats bobbing up and down when the tide came in . The Harbour Inn does a great Sunday lunch but I would recommend booking as it does get busy . There are lots of lovely walks nearby including the beach . We know the area quite well but for anyone that doesn't a few leaflets about places to visit might be useful

Seaview is cottage we keep going back to. Garlieston itself is very quiet which is how we like it. We make our own entertainment. We have many walks in the area where we can walk our dog without meeting a soul. We bring paddle boards and paddle the bay at high tide. There are lots of nearby beaches to swim or play ball with our dog (we particularly like Monrieth once the tide is out). St Medan golf course used to be a second home to me in the 90's. Five Kingdoms Brewery makes some of my favourite beers and I stock up each visit.

This was a brilliant find for us. Lovely house, spotlessly clean. The views were amazing across the bay. We spent hours just watching the tide come in and out and using the binoculars provided to watch the birds. There are lovely walks around garlieston without having to get in the car. The local pub does great real ales and food at reasonable prices. It does get busy so would recommend booking for food. There’s also a lovely cafe, the hive, for home baked cakes. We did have a couple of trips out to the isle of Whithorn, the priory and Wigtown which were beautiful. The nearest shop is a small coop in Wigtown, about 7 miles up the road. There is allocated parking for one car in the car park in front of the house and about four other spaces on a first come first served basis. Our only request is a dishwasher! Just us being lazy!We would definitely book the cottage again and recommend it.
