This attractive detached ‘long house’ is situated in the small crofting community of Feriniquarrie, near Glendale on the Isle of Skye. All on the ground floor, you can relax in the front of the wood burner in the living room. The kitchen/dining room is well-equipped should you wish to make an evening meal or lunchtime snack. There is a double sofa bed in the living room, a bedroom with a double bed and en-suite facilities, and a single bedroom. The family bathroom completes the picture.
The property is only a 5-minute walk from the shore where you can perhaps catch sight of otters and many species of bird life. It enjoys views across the surrounding croftland to the waters of Loch Pooltiel (sea loch), and makes the perfect holiday base for exploring this beautiful island. Alternatively, sit outside and enjoy the tranquil surroundings and the magnificent sunsets.

It was at least our 5th year at Ferniniquarrie and we are already booked in for 2027 so that should speak for itself! It's everything you could possibly want and more for a holiday in Skye. Spacious but cosy, very comfortable, warm on chilly mornings and evenings. The owners had the heating on timer for which we were grateful. We had everything we needed for a truly memorable stay. Roll on next year!ps. . I don't mind drinking wine out of a tumbler but you could do with replacing your stock of wine glasses as you are down to 1 !

We loved our stay here - the cottage is in a truly stunning location. The week gave us everything we were hoping for - peace, beauty, wonderful walks, history to explore - we were sad to leave.

Have been coming to this cottage for many years. I've always forgiven its shortcomings due to the price and location. This year however it was so dirty that I doubt we will return again. The floors were covered in dust, the rugs and mats hadn't seen a hoover for a while. I had to clean the cupboards before putting any food away and the TV screen was so smeared it was unwatchable. I cleaned that too as well as the dust off the TV unit. The mattress is well past its useful life and the kitchen equipment leaves a lot to be desired (1 wine glass only). I don't want to be completely negative - its a warm cottage in a great location it just needs a lot of TLC.
