Loch Duich Cottage boasts a stunning lochside location with beautiful views and easy access to local attractions, making it ideal for families, walkers, and those seeking tranquillity. Guests appreciate the spaciousness, accessibility for wheelchair users, and recent refurbishments, including a new kitchen and furnishings. While some reviews mention maintenance issues and a lack of information or welcome extras, the overall experience is positive, with many guests highlighting the comfort and memorable scenery.
Several guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, especially after the recent refurbishment. However, some reviews noted areas that could have been cleaner and mentioned tired carpets and a need for more attention to detail.
The location is consistently praised as outstanding, with direct loch access, beautiful views, and proximity to Skye and local amenities. Guests frequently highlight the peaceful setting and wildlife.
Most guests found the cottage comfortable, with good beds and warmth. The property is well-suited for wheelchair users, though thick rugs were a minor obstacle for some. Refurbished furnishings have improved comfort.
Facilities are generally adequate, with a well-equipped kitchen and accessible layout. However, recurring issues with maintenance (e.g., doors, toilets, kitchen fittings) and a lack of instructions or local information were noted.
Some guests received welcome packs with milk, bread, butter, and cheese, which were appreciated, but these are not guaranteed. The lack of local information and extras was mentioned as an area for improvement.

This is our 4th holiday at Loch Duich Cottage - we love the area and the cottage is in a wonderful location. There has been a refurb since our last visit 4 years ago - some good, some not so good. The kitchen and new furniture were lovely but was grateful for step as some cupboards very high! As we travel with a wheelchair the ramp to the front door is excellent but the addition of some very thick rugs in rooms and hallways made it much harder to move around the house. Easily dealt with during our stay though. The main thing we missed was any instructions for the house (white goods, tv - dvd cable missing - WiFi code) - it felt as though the instruction booklet was missing and also there was no visitors book.We did have a wonderful holiday - the very cold weather (in May!) meant that we were very cosy in the cottage and able to enjoy the view from the windows in comfort. Would definitely recommend to others.

great location. However the cottage faciliities need attention:- patio doors seemed loose (we didn't dare use them after one attempt), other reviews complained of toilets not flushing all they need is the siphon mechanisms adjusting which was typiical of the whole place. It needs someone with DIY skillls to stay a few nights and restore things to a decent standard.
