Spotlessly clean, amazingly well equipped kitchen, really comfy / firm double bed. We appreciated having the option of a bath or a shower. Host (Kevin) was very responsive to any questions. It was only when speaking to Kevin that we gleaned some history of the property, which is reflected in all the amazing art work and memorabilia. A real gem of a place, we will be back. Mary, Dorset

We stayed for two weeks in this fishing cottage in Buckie. On the positive side, the cottage was very clean and cosy. The beds are very comfortable. It was also very clean when we arrived. Having two bathrooms (each with their own toilet) was a real plus, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and equipment, including a very handy air fryer. A fresh set of bed linen was also thoughtfully provided for the second week. However, several issues took the shine off our stay. The biggest was only being told at the very last minute that no towels were provided. This was not explicitly stated anywhere in the advert or booking details, leaving us unprepared. Fortunately, we had brought a beach towel with us – otherwise we would have been completely without. With no tumble dryer or washing line and only a single towel, keeping it clean and dry was awkward – manageable in good weather, but it would have been very difficult if the weather had been worse with a risk of damp had it been in the winter. We also found the cottage cluttered with ornaments and personal items, without a clear theme. This made it feel more like someone’s family holiday home than a dedicated holiday let. The excessive number of ornaments limited storage space and even made accessing some windows awkward, which was frustrating over our longer stay. The Moray coast itself is fantastic and we enjoyed exploring the area, but the towel policy and the overall setup of the cottage left us disappointed. With clearer communication and a few simple changes, this could easily have been a four-star experience.

This is a beautifully furnished cottage with all mod cons. The bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of storage. The upgraded shower is roomy and powerful. With a shower room upstairs and bathroom downstairs it is ideal for a family. The kitchen is well equipped, including having an air fryer, cooker, microwave, sandwich maker, toaster, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher! You can see the sea from the kitchen window and it is about 100yds to the sea. There are multiple places to walk with or without dogs and there are both Tesco and Lidl’s stores within walking distance. The owners are lovely and care about you enjoying your holiday.
