Guests say

2 Black Horse Cottages offers a peaceful and scenic rural retreat, ideal for exploring Anglesey and North Wales. Guests consistently praise the friendly and helpful owners, the cleanliness, and the comfortable, well-equipped cottages. The location is quiet yet convenient for local amenities and attractions. Thoughtful touches such as milk, tea, and eggs on arrival are appreciated, though not guaranteed. Some minor issues were noted, including the access road, occasional maintenance needs, and limited Wi-Fi. Overall, the property provides a relaxing and enjoyable stay for families, couples, and dog owners alike.

Most guests found the cottages very clean and well-presented, with fresh bedding and tidy surroundings. A few reviews mentioned minor cleaning issues, such as the need for a deep clean in the kitchen, but these were exceptions rather than the norm.

The rural setting is widely praised for its tranquillity and beautiful views, while still being conveniently close to beaches, towns, and amenities. The only recurring negative is the potholed access road, but this does not detract significantly from the overall positive impression.

Guests generally found the cottages comfortable, warm, and cosy, with spacious rooms and good beds. A few mentioned issues with soft mattresses or draughts, but most reviews highlight restful stays and suitability for families and pets.

Facilities are generally good, with well-equipped kitchens, parking, and outdoor spaces. Some guests noted missing items (e.g., oven gloves, soap), maintenance issues (e.g., decking, washing machine), and the lack of Wi-Fi. The playground and dog-friendly areas are appreciated.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as milk, tea, sugar, and eggs on arrival, as well as the owners' warm welcomes and helpfulness. Please note that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

The cottage was well equipped with lots of storage for your holiday essentials to be packed out of sight but just a few minor things missing in the kitchen, an oven glove and dishwashing brush/scrubber would have been useful. The plastic spatula was disintegrating and needs replacing.Overall great value for money.

Trampoline had big nettles growing around and up through springs, could do with strumming, kids couldn’t play on it. Appreciate owner had injured foot, so couldn’t maintain himself at the time of our visit.

The sisters who greeted us were lovely and very friendly. We found the toilets took a while to fill and a fan would have been a bonus in the heatwave we had. It was very private and quiet most of the time. There was a lot of crow scaring bangs during our stay which upset our dog, but not the owners fault. Also in the pictures for the 3 cottages there were privacy fencing between the decking areas, but were not there for our arrival. Our dog was fine as she is laid back with other dogs but not all dogs would be happy. Plus more hooks for hanging leads, coats etc by the front door would be a bonus. But over all it was a lovely stay and very accessible to lots of local sites
