Welcome pack and doggy extras.. Large enclosed lawned garden with patio, garden furniture and BBQ. Hot tub for 4 (private). 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (working farm). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. This lovely 1900s barn was formerly a cow shed and milking parlour, and has been converted to a high standard with luxury fixtures and fittings. It is situated on a working beef and sheep farm with a pedigree Hereford suckler herds, sheep and goats and lies adjacent to the owners’ home. This semi-detached property is all one level and has a family bathroom, a double bedroom with en-suite facilities and a twin bedroom. The corridor leads to an open plan living space and the fabulous fitted kitchen has all the necessary appliances you could need. There is also a lovely breakfast bar for you to enjoy your meals whilst looking at the open countryside through the patio doors. The living area has a wood burner, ideal for keeping you cosy on those colder evenings, and patio doors lead out to a patio area and the garden, great for exercising the dogs, and children. After a long walk, imagine relaxing in the private hot tub just looking out onto the rolling green hills – perfect!
Ammanford itself has a coffee roastery serving fantastic coffee as well as breakfasts. There is also a large selection of shops, supermarkets and local pubs, some serving good food and with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and castles. Pantyffynnon station is within walking distance of the property on Heart of Wales line to Shrewsbury or Cardiff in the other
direction.
There is also plenty to do in the area, with the beaches of Gower approximately 18 miles. The lovely old market town of Llandeilo, situated on the River Towy, is just 6 miles away with boutiques and galleries, and hosts various festivals throughout the year, including the Jazz Festival and the Gin Festival. For those wanting to explore the local countryside, there are plenty of walks from the property and some great biking trails. Beach 12¾ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at Sgubor Llwyndu with our 2 children and dog over August bank holiday weekend.Although there are a few things that we feel could make the barn and stay much better for future guests and families so here is our honest review of our stay.The owners directions were great and made it very easy to find the farm. First impressions of the barn were good, it’s lovely, cosy and very spacious. The owners left us a lovely welcome card and bottle of wine on arrival with welsh cakes, butter and milk in the fridge, which was a lovely touch and Davina came to say hi on arrival and check everything was ok.The location is great and easy access to many places for days out. We arranged for a Tesco online food shop to be delivery which was really handy so we didn’t have to take the kids and dog food shopping. Burry Port Beach was a lovely day out. Large sandy beach with a lighthouse and harbour. It was only a 30 min drive and is a dog friendly beach all year round with swallow water areas which are great for young kids and dogs to splash around in.The owner’s farmhouse joins directly onto the barn. Although the owners have a partial fence up in their garden which gives some privacy when in the garden or hot tub, the garden isn’t completely private and is linked/shared with the owners garden space. We were a little surprised at this as we thought the barn would have had its own private and enclosed garden. Although there are fencing around the gardens they have gaps so it’s not secure and dogs could get out and into the fields if not kept on a lead.We often saw the owners dog in the garden barking at the back door of the barn. We were also concerned after only 30 minutes of arriving that the owners 2 grandchildren were in the garden, climbing on the hot tub cover, looking through the barns windows/doors and letter box and they were also trying to open the barns front and back doors. We let the owner Davina know and she was very apologetic about this and we didn’t have any issues after that.As I say, the barn is lovely, cosy and spacious but a few improvements here and there could make it much better. Some suggestions of ours would be:-A king size bed in the main bedroom. It’s a large room so could easily fit a king rather than a double that felt very small.Making the garden fully private, enclosed and separate from the owners garden so that it is more private for guests and their children and dogs.The WiFi is very poor and we struggled to connect to the WiFi during our stay making it difficult to use the smart TVs.We had to use our mobile data a lot.It’s only a WiFi extender, extending fromthe owners WiFi so it’s very unstable and poor connection. The barn doesn’t have its own separate WiFi or router.The en-suite shower/wet room was unusable. Water doesn’t drain away fast enough and floods the rooms completely after a minute or so and water seeps under the door into the bedroom so had to stop the shower and use the main bathroom that had a bath with shower over it. The water also filled up in the bathroom while showering so not sure if there is a drain blockage.Most of the barn appeared clean although the sofas were not. Lifted up the cushions to find lots of bits and crumbs etc which looked like it hadn’t been hoovered for months.Despite a few issues that we experienced, we still had a great family break and enjoyed our time here.

We can't say any thing bad, all was wonderful. Great hosts , welcome pack- wine- Welsh butter- bara brith- Welsh cakes- milk and welcome card, beautiful touch. Great decor. We are looking to buy a roto spa as it was good. And peaceful. Thank you Davina and Tudor .

Beautiful cottage on a working farm. We had a warm welcome from Divina our host who had left lots of delicious Welsh goodies for our arrival. The location is great for exploring the local area which included trips to Aberglasney gardens. Welsh National Botanic Gardens and the Mumbles. The only downside for me was that although the cottage is all on ground level there are small steps at the front doors and 2 deeper steps inside between the hallway and the kitchen/ lounge area which my 91 year old mother struggled with. Other than that I would highly recommend this cottage.
