Patio with garden furniture, gas BBQ, summerhouse (open Apr-Oct) and firepit (shared with owner and other properties on-site). 3-acre unspoilt grounds with woodland (shared with owner and other properties on-site). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a spring. There is a fenced river in the grounds, 100 yards away.. The Cow Shed is a lovely barn conversion, accessed via a rough track, nestled in the heart of the Crychan Forest, set between the Brecon Beacons and Cambrian mountains. This semi-detached property offers a relaxing retreat for those looking for a countywide getaway and some real peace and quiet.
There are plenty of sights to see and places of interest to explore in the area, alongside some great spots for cycling, walking, hiking, birdwatching and fishing. The Cow shed is situated on the owner’s small holding, where they keep chickens, sheep, pigs and geese which can be seen roaming the fields in front of the property.
The property comprises of an open plan living space with a lovely wood burner to keep you warm on those chilly nights. There is also a double sofa bed on the ground floor, a shower room and to the first floor is a galleried bedroom with a comfortable double bed. Bath robes are also provided. Outside there are shared grounds and a garden with a seating area, summerhouse, barbecue, Rayburn and a griddle (summerhouse available in summer only).
Stabling is also available at the property by prior arrangement, should you wish to bring your horses. Shop and restaurant 4¼ miles and pub 4¾ miles.
The Cow Shed can be booked together with The Hen House (ref UK13352) and The Pig Sty (ref UK13350) to accommodate up to 10 guests.
The water is from a spring, well or borehole, and not a mains supply.
Approach to property is by a rough or gravel track.
There is open water in the property grounds.

Great retreat 5 days holiday for me and my dog. Love the calmness and quietness of the cottage. Location is isolated sit in the forest on its own. The last 10 mins drive is on a truck trail but I have an ordinary small van. No issue at all. There is no WiFi or mobile signal when you are inside the house, but I can receive signal and 4G as soon as I step outside of house( I’m on EE). But this is exactly what I look for a place without too much tech distractions. The host both are very welcome me; they are there if I need the help but at the same time will give me space. Woodburner is an extra bonus and the host provide lots of free woods which I really appreciated. Easy to drive to Brecon Beacon to do day walk. Beautiful stars gazing in clear night. Farms animals are friendly to my dog. Highly recommended! Will definitely return.
