The magnificent dining room at Ysgubor Fawr has seating for 20 and more can be added. The adjacent kitchen is well equipped and easily lends itself to use by caterers.. Y Bwthyn (Little Cottage) is one of three Cennen Cottages properties including Ty Nant (Stream Cottage ref OXL) and Ysgubor Fawr (Great Barn ref OXK). They are situated in a courtyard setting within one of the most beautiful and secluded areas in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The properties are architect-designed conversions of 19th-century stone barns and are finished to a very high standard. They form part of historic Blaenllynnant Farm, the home of Sir John Williams who was physician to Queen Victoria and the founder of the National Library of Wales. Each property is well separated from the others and has its own lawned grounds and outstanding views of the Black Mountain. Red kites and buzzards abound.
For Y Bwthyn (Little Cottage), the cosy open plan living space with wood burner has a plate glass gable end with door to terrace, ceiling to roof apex and fully fitted kitchen. There is also oil fired central heating throughout (underfloor in the open plan living space).
This is excellent walking country, not only on Blaenllynnant Farm itself, but also to nearby Carreg Cennen Castle (named Wales’ most spectacular castle) and the Black Mountain. Garn Goch, the site of an Iron Age fort with superb views of the upper Towy Valley, is only 3 miles away. There are good restaurants and pubs in Llandeilo (6 miles), Llangadog (8 miles) and the village of Trap (4 miles). Within easy driving distance are the Gower, Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire coasts. Nearby attractions include the National Botanical Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Garden and, in Llandeilo, Dinefwr Castle and Park. Shops 6 miles.
The properties are easily accessible, being only 12 miles from the end of the M4 and 8 miles from the A40.

This is a fabulous cottage in a beautiful location, quiet and peaceful in an idyllic setting. The cottage in very clean and well equipped. There are plenty of lovely places to visit and we had an amazing time. The weather was exceptional whilst we were there.However, it is a little out of the way with no shops or pubs near by, so it is worth making sure you have the necessary provisions for your stay as it is not just a case of nipping down the road to get them. All in all we had a fantastic time. Thank you

Beautiful getaway, can imagine the log fire would be lovely in winter, very remote. Bathroom and bedroom spotles. Kitchen couldve done with a clean and a frying pan would be fab, also the oven runs extremely hot. Overall tho would recommend to a friend !

Lovely and quiet beautiful countrysideGreat veiws and walks Y Bwthyn is well maintained well equipped and well designed everything you need for your stay lovely and warm we did light the wood burner the first night but it got to warm for us easily for the dog who is getting on a bit now so just great all round will be booking again soon
