The beams and exposed stonework exude character, and the multi-fuel burner adds that cosy touch for snuggling up in the delightful spacious living and dining room, with a sofa bed for two additional people if required. The country feel continues in the kitchen which has an ornamental range cooker, a Belfast sink, and plenty of space to prepare meals. Leading off the kitchen is a family bathroom with a toilet, basin, bath, and overhead shower. The first-floor bedrooms have been thoughtfully decorated; the kingsize room is elegant in white and the charming twin room has a painted stone wall and a nautical feel – a nod to the Cardigan Bay coast which is just 12 miles away! There are so many cycling routes around here, it’s worth bringing them! The university town of Lampeter is just a short drive away and has a selection of independent shops, coffee shops, and tea rooms. There is a regular market and a museum dedicated to the craft of Welsh quilts. Drive on further to find the National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mines - well worth a visit for an underground tour and the opportunity to pan for gold! Do not miss the special coastline of this spectacular part of West Wales. There are plenty of lovely sandy beaches, picturesque coastal towns and villages dotted along it. The colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is a must, as is the quaint town of New Quay, where you can take a boat trip or spot dolphins from the harbour wall on an almost daily basis. Walkers will be impressed by 65 miles of coastal path, plenty for even the most ardent of ramblers!

The attractions of Pembrokeshire are also within easy reach for a day trip, but whether you want to visit tiny seaside villages, explore ancient castles, spot exciting wildlife, wander the unspoilt countryside, or just enjoy some fine locally produced food and drink, there is a holiday waiting for you to enjoy at Penlan Cottage. Beach 12½ miles. Shop, pub, and restaurant 3 miles.

There are steps or steep slopes in the garden.

A nicely renovated and spacious cottage. The kitchen is well equipped and the livingroom and master bedroom are very comfortable. The garden needs a bit of attention and new picknicktable. There is a lot to do and see in a 30/40 minute drive. We have had a very nice stay!
