Experience total tranquillity in this idyllic hideaway for one or two adults to completely unwind. Set in a four-acre, riverside wildflower meadow filled with wildlife, the dreamy cabin is located to the west of Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons), just 0.5 miles from the vibrant village of Cwmdu in the heart of Carmarthenshire where there’s a welcoming, community-run pub and shop. Carmarthenshire is also home to The National Botanic Garden of Wales featuring the world's largest single-span glasshouse and famous for Laugharne, home to the Poet Dylan Thomas. The charming market town of Llandeilo is 7 miles away, where you’ll find independent shops and a variety of places to eat and drink alongside Dinefwr Castle / Newton Houe & Deer Park, part of The National Trust. Head into Mynydd Du (the Black Mountain) to walk or cycle among remote, high peaks and deep, mystical lakes, with the highlights of Llyn y Fan Fach, the Picws Du peak, and Carreg Cennen Castle all within 16 miles. For a day at the beach, head to the charming village beach at Llansteffan 26 miles or the 8-mile golden stretch of Cefn Sidan, (near Llanelli ) 36 miles.
Switch off your electronics and prepare to reconnect with nature in this magical, hand-crafted cabin. Made from locally sourced timber and topped with a living sedum roof, it’s in perfect alignment with its natural surroundings, and boasts an abundance of luxuries to make your stay truly special. Take the five steps up to the wraparound deck, and head inside, where you’ll find soft tones, natural textures and all the warmth of full insulation and double glazing, with the added glow of a wood burner. The octagonal, open-plan space feels incredibly cosy, with a welcoming sofa, lots of warm throws, and a selection of books, maps and games. The kitchen includes an oven, hob and fridge with ice box, plus a breakfast bar where you can enjoy your meals. The hand-crafted, solid-oak double bed is an incredible piece of craftsmanship. Boasting a hotel-quality, pocket-sprung luxury mattress, it’s dressed with 400 thread-count Egyptian cotton linens and soft Welsh woollen blankets alongside hot-water bottles. With a small wardrobe, fluffy robes and a DAB radio, you’ll feel totally spoiled. A surprisingly spacious en-suite shower room completes this stunning space, boasting a hot-water rainfall shower and flushing WC, complemented by locally made toiletries.
While away as many hours as possible relaxing on the spacious, raised decking terrace. Whether you’re sunbathing or stargazing, you can either sit back on the loungers or sink into serenity in the sunken bath, listening to the babbling river, birdsong and the occasional sheep in the neighbouring fields. Alternatively, head to the riverside and swing gently in the hammock, with nothing better to do than daydream, read or enjoy a nap. Just a few steps from the cabin, a large nook with lighting, a dining table and seating is set up as your private outdoor cooking and dining space. It’s perfect for long evenings by the BBQ or fire pit, wrapped in a blanket under the vast night sky. The 4-acre meadow in which the cabin is sited is a tranquil haven. Managed for wildlife, it features long grasses and wildflowers, and is home to a variety of birds, butterflies and moths as well as squirrels, foxes, badgers and the occasional deer - with possible sightings of the resident otter and kingfisher. Opposite the meadow you’ll have parking space for two cars, with a trolley on hand to help carry your luggage along the winding path.
