Bwlchsais is a spacious and well-equipped cottage praised for its seclusion, privacy, and rural charm. Guests enjoyed the peaceful setting with wildlife sightings and stunning starry nights. The property is centrally located in Pembrokeshire, making it ideal for exploring local beaches and attractions. The AGA cooker and hot tub were popular features, although some guests encountered issues that were addressed by the responsive property manager.
The cleanliness received mixed reviews. Some guests found the property clean and neat, while others reported dust, cobwebs, and a lack of deep cleaning. The presence of dead flies and a smell of sewage were also noted, suggesting room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its rural tranquility, beautiful countryside views, and proximity to local beaches and attractions in Pembrokeshire. Guests enjoyed wildlife sightings and the peaceful environment.
Guests found the beds clean and comfortable, and the showers powerful and hot. However, some issues with the heating system and underfloor heating affected the comfort level, especially upon arrival.
The facilities like the AGA cooker and hot tub were appreciated, but there were reports of maintenance issues such as a broken AGA, playstation, and general disrepair. The responsiveness of the property manager to address these issues mitigates the impact somewhat.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts was noted in the provision of a welcome pack during a previous stay, but was found lacking in a subsequent visit. Guests suggested the inclusion of basic essentials to enhance the experience. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

A spacious and well equipped property providing excellent seclusion and privacy. Not sure how well the air source heat pump central heating would work in the colder months. Radiators and underfloor heating were lukewarm at best. Lack of any local facilities might not suit some but if you just want to get away from it all for a week or so then this place for you.

This was our second stay at Bwlchais in Pembrokeshire. The house is beautiful which is why we wanted to stay a second time and perfect for a larger family of 7 like us!Perfectly positioned in the centre of Pembrokeshire we easily accessed all the sites we wanted to!Great big fridge and decent sized freezer!Tesco delivers easily which helps to save you bringing a car full!Love the AGA once you get used to cooking on it!Watch out for Mr Fox 🦊 he likes to visit in an afternoon, and Aragon the spider in the lounge 🕷️- always an idea to check where he is!Make sure to sit outside on an evening and watch the stars - absolutely spectacular! Having never seen a shooting star - I saw three here in one evening! My only gripe is that there seemed to be a few special touches that weren’t there this time, we received a welcome pack with a few essentials last time like milk & bread I believe which put us on until our shopping arrived later that evening and that wasn’t the same this year, each bathroom had hand wash bottles last time and this time although there were some hand wash bottles the ones that were present were nearly empty, there were salt & pepper pots but no salt, there were a few teabags and coffee sachets and only a few sugar sachets, the house was clean but not deep cleaned. A suggestion for the owners would be maybe to add at least a bottle of milk, bag of sugar, pot of salt, small bottle of sunflower oil and to put a small bar of soap/ top up hand wash bottles in every bathroom - even if you add the cost of this to the booking - they are things you might not think to bring!

The house itself is in a great location, situated in-between Tenby in the South and Cardigan in the North. The location enabled us to explore all the local beaches - Mwnt and Poppits were our absolute favourites! The location was also very rural, lovely and peaceful and quiet with great views of the countryside from all windows! We saw a fox on our first night, bats every evening and what we think was a kestrel! The beds were clean and comfortable, the showers powerful and hot and the overall sense of space at the property was great for 4 adults and 2 children. Unfortunately the aga was broken when we arrived and we couldn't use it to cook for the 6 of us the first few nights. Thankfully the owner was responsive and got this sorted and fixed as quickly as possible. Unfortunately when he did come and visit the house he left the house with the key in the lock rather than in the key safe which meant the house with all our belongings in it were unsafe! I do want to say that we were a little disappointed with the general cleanliness of the house, there was lots of dust on surfaces and in cupboards and wardrobes and crumbs/dead flies in the corners of the room and in the cutlery draw, also kitchen utensils with stains and marks on them. Cobwebs in most corners of the rooms and my feet were filthy after just 1 hour in the house. There was also a strong smell of sewage coming from the downstairs toilet and outside drains which attracted lots of flies. We also felt inside the house and outside needed some general maintenance and repairs - broken blinds, playstation broken, a mirror had fallen off the wall and not been put back up, plaster that had come off walls, broken cupboards in the kitchen, overgrown weeds in the garden (not as neat and tidy on the advertised photographs). We therefore sadly wouldn't be in a hurry to book in again unless these issues were sorted, I hope our feedback can help make future guests stay a better experience.
