Alarm bells should have rang when the owner said the tumble dryer wasn’t working and blamed the people before us which I found a bit bizarre as they may not have even used it. The tumble dryer was not repaired The outside lighting was poor and the main light not working plus spent an hour trying to get the heating working. The lanes to and from the cottage are an absolute nightmare especially with the biblical weather flooding the roads making them impassable. With storm Cieran coming in we decided to come back on the Wednesday night due to most roads flooded. We informed the owners we were leaving early so they could organise repairs to tumble dryer etc and left the cottage as we found it only to get charged for a mark on a rug which we did not do. In the process of challenging this and so annoyed and Sykes no help at all so don’t rely on them. We are putting it down to being courteous and letting them have more time to inspect the cottage rather than a few hours on a Saturday as we didn’t notice it - we put all the recycle bins out turned the heating off made sure everything was spic and span and left one light on for safety as leaving it unoccupied. They took money without consent or comms and when we challenged this they simply say go to citizens advice. My bank is now taking this on as we treated the property with the highest regard and followed all the rules and so disappointed and spoilt a lovely time. The cottage itself is lovely and garden great but the lanes are a nightmare - 45-50 mins drive to coast and sat nav takes you through the lanes so avoid this stay in main roads as many lanes were flooded and had to do 6 point turns to turn round. I would not recommend this property simply because the owner blamed us for something we did not do with no conversations and took money from my bank account. Be careful with this one and check everything before you settle in as we didn’t even notice a small mark on the rug which we did not do. They believed the dogs marked the rug when we did not let them upstairs - this mark was not done by us and the owners blamed us for something that had already been done Date of experience: 03 November 2023

We couldn’t get the tv to work so phoned owners & they came within a short time & resolved the problem. Lovely break shame about the weather.

The welcome gifts were much appreciated, thank you. The cottage was a good base to visit lots of lovely places. Our favourite was Stackpole Quay, leading to Barafundle Bay, which was truly lovely. There is a decent co-op in Whitland and a farm shop which has some lovely produce. The only slight downside for us was that the garden wasn't secure enough for our dog but that was more to do with the fact that he's still quite young and not trained as well as he could be. The garden was large though and there was plenty of room to park. All in all a very pleasant holiday.
