Near the Royal Forest of Dean and just a few minutes’ drive from Tintern Abbey, this beautifully appointed and warm lodge with its own hot tub commands wonderful views over the sylvan Wye Valley above Brockweir. Easily accessed year round, this border territory is marked by stunning scenery and brooding castles. There are delightful market towns to explore and the walking is excellent, whether on Offa’s Dyke, in the forest or along the river bank. Chepstow’s castle, racecourse and golf courses about 5 miles. Shop and pub/restaurant 1 mile.

Absolutely brilliant cottage, (once you find it) a hidden treasure. Would definitely recommend, fantastic host who was very helpful. The electrics cut out a few times due to age of consumer box but the host is aware and in the process of getting replaced. It was quite easy to turn it ack on, but you need a torch at night. Lovely hot tub, lovely and clean, with comfy beds and everything you could possibly want in the cupboards. Thank you,

A wonderful week away. The location is stunning and remote which was perfect for us.The hosts were on hand if needed and quick to sort out any issues (a small tree fell in front of the driveway).We'll be back!

We are a Family of 2 adults 2 children and 1 Dog stayed for 1 week. Contacted owners with ease 3 days before and arranged the meeting place, we followed owner to the Lodge, please bare in mind the roads are 2 track as you get closer and some places are dipped so it would scrape the bottom of the car. They showed around explained varies things like air conditioning and hot tub instructions and gave recommendations for places to visit, Lovely chat really helpful.We were provided with Dishwasher Tablets, cleaning sprays, washing up liquid, hand soap, milk, sugar, teas and coffee, salt and pepper, tin foil, cling film, Bin bags. Kitchen cupboards stocked with cutlery, crockery, pans etc as expected. Also had a Hoover, clothes airer, brooms, dust pan, blankets, towels, dog poo bags, Books, puzzles and board games, outside table and chairs and lounges too. The place is really cute to be honest and is cleaned well, although we did have to go round with the hoover attachment to get a lot of dusty cobwebs around the ceiling and beams on the first day but thats probably the only niggly thing I could point out about our week there.The View is incredible! The area is so peaceful, lots of wildlife, we heard many Birds included woodpeckers, owls and buzzards, Rabbits, squirrels and Badgers, we even had Fallow Deer in the field in front of us and a Stag jumped into the garden one evening too. Honestly incredible experiences. Lots and I mean lots of walks on the door step, play park and small local cafe/shop within walking distance if you take the offas dyke walk a little bit along the road from the lodge and more walks around the area and others only a little drives away, with woodlands, waterfalls etc. Castles and landmarks also close within an hour drive, there is a lot of to do in the Wye valley in general. Another highlight of our stay was the fact the RAF use the river as a training ground for maneuvers so nearly everyday we saw helicopters and planes very low and close including a massive carrier plane and chinoocs. We didnt try any local takeaways but there were some in tintern and chepstow. Supermarkets also found in either chepstow or monmouth. Chain fast food like Greggs and Subway found in chepstow and monmouth and Burger King just outside monmouth (this was handy on the way back from Raglan Castle)All in all Fantastic Stay and will definitely be looking to come back again.
