Guests say

Cider Mill Lodge is a warmly regarded holiday rental with fantastic views and a peaceful, rural setting. Guests appreciate the well-equipped lodge, the enclosed garden for pets, and the addition of a hot tub. The location offers great walks and wildlife, with some guests already planning return visits. While some furnishings and maintenance aspects could be improved, the overall experience is very positive, with thoughtful touches like a welcome package and flowers on arrival.

The lodge is generally well-received for its cleanliness, with most guests finding it clean and well-maintained. However, one review mentioned that a second shower could use a thorough cleaning, slightly impacting the overall score.

The location scores highly due to its stunning views, peaceful setting, and proximity to walking trails like Offa's Dyke. The rural charm and wildlife sightings are a highlight, although the lack of a nearby pub is noted.

Guests find the lodge warm and comfortable, with a good Wi-Fi connection. However, some guests suggest that the lounge furniture and mattresses could benefit from an upgrade, indicating room for improvement in comfort.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the hot tub and the enclosed garden for dogs. The lodge is described as well-equipped, but some guests mention that furniture and certain amenities are showing signs of wear and could be updated.

While guests mention thoughtful gestures such as a welcome package and flowers, there is not enough information to determine if such gifts are consistent across all stays. Therefore, it is politely noted that such gestures, while appreciated, may not be guaranteed.

My friends and I have been coming here for years even though it is a bit more expensive than other properties in the area. We love the seclusion, it is so private and walks from the door. Chepstow and Monmouthshire town is a short drive away

A really lovely lodge. Fantastic views and dog walking right from the door (bridleway right at the front gate with a track to Offa's Dyke) and well in reach of many places of interest to visit. The lodge is very warm and comfortable well equipped and great WI-Fi too..... the phone signal was very good too for those who need it. Decent welcome package to start with, also the big supermarkets found us just fine with a home delivery of groceries (we used tesco and they had no problem finding the lodge). We would have liked an info folder with local amenity numbers and guide to the equipment but not a bother as a quick internet search sorts that out. Our Dogs had a great time despite the very stormy weather. Very friendly & helpful owners. Will we go again..... already looking to next years booking calendar so hopefully yes.

Lovely lodge owner meets you at designated place to take you to lodge as it’s in a rural setting stunning views milk tea coffee hot chocolate washing up liquid hand soap. Toilet roll supplied. Cleaning products also flowers on table along with tub of quality street Was a very pleasant week shame about the rain but we knew that when we booked. Would book again but possibly slightly earlier than1st wk November Could possibly benefit from a stand up airer to dry towels after showers and going in hot tub
