It's a rural setting but the animals and yard are kept immaculately clean so there are no farmyard smells. The outside area is secure for the dog, so she enjoyed her holiday too. Lots of places to visit in the area and as we stayed during the hottest week of the year we managed to find shaded wooded walks and walks by rivers so that the dog could cool down. Only useful additions to the barn would be a coffee table in the lounge and a bedside lamp in the first bedroom, but these were really minor issues.

Lovely views to the bridge and the Estuary. Conveniently placed to get to Cardiff and the other attractions. Top Lodge was fairly clean but needs a little TLC. Bulb gone in main light in 2nd bedroom, was mentioned in previous reviews, no bedside lamp in main bedroom so had to be careful of sloped ceiling when on way back to bed. No Tea towels, was mentioned to hosts. Could do with bigger TV and toilet roll holders. Curtains to long especially over the kitchen sink.
