Perched near the coastal town of Newport in Pembrokshire, is this delightful traditional stone-built cottage, Penllain. The cottage rests on the slopes of Carningli, Mount of Angels, is set over two floors and can sleep up to six guests, making it the perfect dwelling for a getaway to the coast with family or friends. Be welcomed into the generous kitchen/diner, with handy washing machine, where you can look forward to treating your guests to homemade culinary delights, as they set the table and uncork a bottle of wine. Gather round the dining table to savour a delicious meal as you toast to a wonderful holiday.
After your meal, retire to the sitting room where you can put your feet up and relax on the spacious four-seater sofa in front of the open fire, as you select your favourite film to watch on the TV. Ideal in good weather, limited if not so good. Newport is a lovely place to look around, with nice pubs and places to eat. Butchers is very good.

Our favourite by far. First of all, a highlight of this property is the stunning views and peaceful location. The garden is very private, with the odd sheep or horserider walking past the gate. Stunning views of the sunset every night thanks to the glorious weather. Perfect for the kids to play in safely. Everything about the cottage is comfy from the sofas to the beds. It has a very cosy feel to it, perfect for winter stays as well as Summer. Plenty of towels provided and all the facilities you'd need for a home from home experience. Oven and hob very efficient. We were grateful for the prosecco welcome gift! The only thing we missed was clothes storage in the downstairs bedroom, so bring plenty of hangers for the upstairs wardrobe space. Newport is only a very short drive down the hill, we walked down one night and only took about 20 mins to the Castle Inn pub for a lovely meal. We did lose access to running water at one point for a few hours due to low pressure in the area but thankfully Welsh water got it back up and running. Coast and Country emergency services were on hand to help and we found them very attentive. Tip: don't follow sat nav directions to the cottage, they take you too far to another cottage. Use the directions in the email. We would highly recommend this property!

The pretty garden was dog proof and had stunning views over Dinas Head - we had some spectacular sunsets. It was so peaceful to sit outside enjoying the good weather with no traffic noise, just the sheep, horses and birds - including a rather vocal cuckoo nearby. Our dog had great fun spying on the horses in the adjoining field and barking at anyone who dared to walk past. We have stayed in a number of cottages in and around Newport over the years and feel we have at last found the perfect place. We hope to be back.
