Ty Oriel (Gallery House) enjoys a quiet location in Newport yet is a very short walk from the Nevern estuary, where you can join the coast path or do some bird watching.
There are two local beaches within easy walking distance; Parrog and Newport Sands; both are picture perfect and offer wonderful walking.
Newport is a small town with a surprising range of restaurants, cafes and pubs offering everything from fine dining to relaxed al-fresco cafe culture.
There is also a good selection of individual shops to cater for most needs as well as some nice galleries. There is a lively produce market on Monday selling a wide variety of goods.
Carningli, the Mount of Angels is well worth the climb for the spectacular views of the town, the bay and beyond. Returning visitors make this walk an annual event, their holiday is not complete unless they have walked to the summit. The walk is 3.5 miles and takes approximately 2 hours.
You can park the car up for the week and enjoy just exploring this lovely area of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. There is a service bus, which travels the main road hourly and also a seasonal coastal bus to help you explore without your car. What more could you want?
Newport is a beautiful coastal town in Pembrokeshire, south west Wales lying on the River Nevern with a selection of shops, pubs, tea rooms, plus an excellent golf course overlooking the sea as well as a lovely sheltered harbour. Newport lies on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which is renowned worldwide for its unique landscape and wonderful opportunities to go dolphin and seal spotting. Wonderful coastal walks along the path or in the nearby Preseli Hills with the ever changing scenery are a walkers dream all year round. Learn about history when you visit the mills, craft centres and castles dotted around the county or spend a day at the wonderful Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort where you can learn hands on all about living during that time. See the majestic Shire Horses at the Shire Horse Farm or spend relaxing days on the huge choice of beautiful sandy beaches. All year round this is a perfect location for all the family.
