Situated in the southern reaches of Snowdonia National Park, this charming, semi-detached cottage has been lovingly restored to provide spacious yet cosy holiday accommodation. Perfect for year round holidays and breaks, it is peacefully situated just a short stroll from the village inn and Rhydyronen station on the lovely Tanyllyn railway line. Just 2 miles away is Tywyn, with a good selection of shops, cafés and a lovely sandy beach, and fashionable and lively Aberdovey is just a little further round the coast. This is a superb location for enjoying lovely walks and cycling, with an abundance of wildlife and wonderful waterfalls to spot and enjoy. To the north of the village is Barmouth, start of the Mawddach Trail, which passes over Barmouth Bridge and follows the track bed of the old railway line along the Mawddach Estuary to Dolgellau. Beach 2 miles. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 200 yards.

What a lovely cottage, cosy and beautifully presented. Everything you could think of was provided. Would highly recommend and will stay again

The cottage was spacious and well equipped for self catering. The crockery, glassware and the shelving were dirty, as was the oven top in the kitchen. We put it all through the large, clean, dishwasher and wiped the shelves. The cottage was clean, on the surface. Opening cupboards revealed dirty shelves and a strong smell and evidence of damp. I refer to the one in the living room, and the one in the dining room. The living room has several lights not working, affecting an evening ambience. The fire was covered in cobwebs. The two, comfortable sofas, are now very aged with the plastic flaking off. One also smelt of stale beer. The smell of damp is unforgiving throughout, but especially upstairs. We spent the whole week with all windows open. Many walls have small black damp spots now. The ensuite is cosy but very nice, but the bed is very uncomfortable, and after 3 nights we gave up and moved into the 2nd bedroom, which was much more comfortable, if a little small. I understand getting a full size double is probably impossible up the staircase. The downstairs bathroom is very nice, clean but the light closest to the mirror wasn't working so only one led light working. The steps are not shown in the photo. Outside is nice, but bears little now to the photos, in that the paintwork has flaked off in large places, moss underfoot needs clearing, the patio furniture is unusable as no cushions, and the steps really need a handrail I believe under current planning legislation. And finally the conservatory, which had a recently plastered ceiling, and in one window corner a bad patch of black damp and mould. Nice to sit in and read a book.Overall, we wouldn't return, until the damp and sofas had been sorted, and the beds at least having a memory foam cover and new pillows. The location is perfect and the Peniarth Arms Hotel is a good spot for food drink and music.
