  A Perfect Countryside Getaway at The Barn in lower Longcombe Our recent stay at The Barn in Devon was nothing short of spectacular. Nestled in the serene countryside, this beautifully restored barn offered the perfect blend of charm and modern comfort, making it an ideal retreat for friends and family. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning surroundings. The rolling hills, lush green fields, and picturesque views provided a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Barn itself is a masterpiece of design, with its exposed wooden beams, stone walls, and tasteful decor creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The accommodations were superb. The spacious living area, provided a perfect gathering spot for our group. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to prepare delicious meals which we enjoyed in the stunning indoor and outside dining area. Each bedroom was a sanctuary of comfort, with plush beds and beautiful furnishings ensuring a restful night's sleep for everyone. One of the highlights of our stay was the outdoor space. The Barn boasts a beautiful patio with ample seating, perfect for alfresco dining or simply soaking up the stunning views. We spent many evenings sharing stories and enjoying the star-filled sky. The dogs loved the open space to run and play, while the adults appreciated the peace and tranquility. The location is ideal for exploring the Devon countryside. We enjoyed scenic walks right from our doorstep, discovering charming villages, and taking in the breathtaking landscapes. The nearby beaches provided fun-filled days of sun and shingle, and we even ventured to a few local attractions, all within easy reach. The hospitality we received was outstanding. The owners have thought of everything to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. Their attention to detail and genuine warmth made us feel truly welcome. In conclusion, our stay at The Barn in Devon was a fantastic experience. It provided the perfect setting for a memorable holiday with friends and family, and we left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.   Wow, what a beautiful barn conversion. A great place to stay for a large family group. We rented the barn over the Christmas period and everything couldn't have been more perfect. The large open living area on the main floor is absolutely perfect, the kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with all modern appliances and a huge island area which was perfect for sitting around for a chat whilst preparing our dinners. The dining area has a very large table with seating for 8 people and the lounge area has two large comfy sofas and a wood burner for those cosy winter evenings. Up above the kitchen is a beautiful mezzanine floor with seating for those quieter evenings and the addition of windows in the roof allows you to gaze up peacefully at the stars. There is a separate lounge area/snug off of the main living area which also leads you to the staircase to the lower floor where there are 4 beautiful double bedrooms, 2 of which are en-suite. The Master bedroom is truly very special, with the biggest en-suite I have ever seen. Both Joanne and Simon were there to greet us soon after we arrived and answered any questions we had about the barn. They are a lovely couple who clearly have a very good eye for detail and cant thank them enough. All in all I would highly recommend this property for larger family groups who are looking for something with more class than your normal holiday rental property.

  This property is a light, modern and well equipped house constructed on the site of the old main farmhouse of a working farm. The owners live in house within walking distance. There are several patio areas with tables and sited to ensure the ability to sit out if you are lucky enough to strike a sunny day on Sir Fon. There is a hot tub which is cleaned and refilled after guests leave. We didn't use it. The house has under floor heating and is very well insulated. The first thing we did on arrival was to turn the heating off! The furniture is all comfortable and would easily accommodate 6 people if necessary. All the equipment works and there is ample cutlery, dishes and glassware. The house is set back from the main road down a lane which can be quite narrow in places. It is not under the flight path from RAF Valley but you will hear jet trainers as in most places in Anglesey. Remember that you are on a working farm so if baaing sheep and bleating lambs are not your thing look elsewhere! Carys and her husband are charming and helpful if help is needed with anything.

  Lovely modern property - very spacious with 4 large kingsize bedrooms and ensuites, plenty of room for 8 guests with contemporary furnishings. Under floor heating was much appreciated for the month of January. The property was very private and although quite remote we were all keen walkers so easily managed to walk to the nearest village (25 mins) for a very reasonable and well cooked breakfast at Caffi Siop Mechell, prior to continuing our hike to Cemaes Bay where we did a lovely coastal walk. Upon our return we stopped off again at Llanfechell for drinks at Y Cefn Glas where we received a warm welcome from the Landlady. Excellent Sunday Carvery 15 minutes drive away at Trecastle Hotel. Also worth a visit for cocktails and lunch was Gwesty Gadlys Hotel which we also managed to incorporate into a hike via the beach on two occasions during our stay. House is highly recommended and we will definitely consider returning, for a mixture of hiking followed by relaxation in the hot tub.

  We had a lovely week at Llandygfael Hir. It is so spacious, inside and out, so there's little or no danger of getting under each other's feet, and our grandchildren could roam in complete safety. It is situated within easy reach of all destinations on the island, and yes, you do have to drive to them, but a couple of minutes' research would tell you that. It's certainly a small trade off when you can spend the week amid beautiful scenery and the sights and sounds of the countryside. Listen out for the farm's sheepdog morning chorus!! The house has every amenity needed for a relaxing time, so we had no need to contact the owners at any time, and they were completely unobtrusive when coming to check the hot tub. Would happily book to come here in the future.
