What our customers say about their holidays
Anthony - Verified booking
This apartment was a large apartment well laid out with comfortable beds.
The wooden furniture in the bedrooms, although useful, plenty of wardrobe space and drawers, was well used and some of the drawers had dropped making it hard to open/close some. The plentiful windows allowed in plenty of light, but the roller blinds didnât cover the whole windows, allowing early light to flood in. The kitchen was well equipped, with just enough equipment, and the water was good and hot. Good parking on site and the quiz night and bingo session in the bar was great fun and entertaining. The bookable pool was advertised to be open from 9:30 till 3:30, but we were told on arrival that it is not available to book in the mornings as it is used for rehab sessions for Firefighters, which is a great facility but felt that the limited availability wasnât made clear on the Sykes advertisement. Also, the booking had to be made on the day it was required, as they didnât always know what bookings would come in for rehab. We were only able to use the pool once because of those limited timings. The Gym was similarly limited availability. We found this a little disappointing. especially as as weâd paid over £1k for the week. As there was no outside play area, it wasnât really ideal for our two lively teenaged grandsons, but may suit other family set ups. Having on site 24 hour staff was reassuring and the whole building felt secure and safe and staff very helpful, in the main. We felt pleased to be able to support such a worthwhile charity but didnât feel it represented good value for money giving the limitations as mentioned above. Nevertheless we enjoyed Littlehampton and found the apartment to be very clean and well located.

We have stayed in many Sykes cottages but this was one that we would not return to.
I understand that the main purpose of the building and its facilities is for the rehabilitation of firefighters. The flats that are let out to the general public are to help raise money for the charity. The flat was austere and quite unwelcoming. The staff in reception were wonderful, especially Fiona, who explained that the apartment had recently been redecorated and that the plan was to put some pictures on the walls. The bath was slippery, we mentioned this and were provided with a mat. There was no safety handle in the bath/ shower but fortunately we had taken a suction one with us. The crockery was very thick and heavy, so much so that we bought a couple of China mugs to use. The flat sleeps 5 but there were only 5 teaspoons, no cafetiere, no hairdryer. No instructions at all for oven or microwave and when we arrived, the welcome pack consisted 2 teabags, 2 individual coffee bags, 4 individual pots of uht milk and 2 small packets of biscuits. The sofa was very comfortable and the beds were quite comfortable. The whole place was enormous with plenty of room for five people but very sparse and utilitarian.

The property is unique and beautiful, in a very quiet location in the heart of the South Downs National Park.
The beds are comfy, there's plenty of space in the living room and dining room .There are plenty of walks from the door, a short walk to the Roman Villa in Bignor. Everything you could want is in the property. There is Wifi, but due to the thickness of the walls it works best in the living room. Telephone reception on Vodafone isn't brilliant but there is a signal in the garden. The gardens are relaxing and there is lots of space to enjoy warm summer evenings. The roads to the property are single track with passing places but are not busy. This is common in this part of the world. The property is close to all the major road links to all the exciting places you can visit in the area. We didn't drive more than 40 minutes to visit any of the attractions. Portsmouth and Brighton are both about an hour away. Overall a wonderful place to kick back, relax and de-stress whilst contemplating the centuries of people who have sat where you are sitting.

Debby made us very welcome on our arrival and showed us around the property.
The barn is a lovely little property and is situated in a very peaceful situation in woods, we found this very handy as we could open the gate in the morning and take our dog straight into the woods. Although quiet and peaceful, a 3 minute drive down the lane takes you straight onto the A27 which is great as you can easily access any areas you wish to visit. The barn itself was very comfortable and well appointed with the added bonus of a nice conservatory, and garden with patio, table and chairs Good pub down the road, and a great village shop which served breakfast. Had a very enjoyable weeks break so 5***** to Debby

Guest's Review On TripAdvisor - Verified booking
My sister and I stayed in The Yeoman's House over Easter weekend with our three young children and had a fabulous time.
The house is large and spacious and has an incredible history. The kids had an absolutely fantastic time both inside the house and running around the huge garden. With an acre to explore and a trampoline to bounce on they were never bored. We played frisbee for hours in the back garden and had an Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday which we will never forget! The owners were very helpful, giving us lots of recommendations of local pubs and places of interest before we stayed. We went to a pub they recommended for lunch which was fantastic and took the kids to Singleton Open Air Museum where we got to visit another medieval house just like the Yeoman's but without the modernisation. It was fascinating. All in all it was a unique and special experience staying in such an old house with so much character and all mod cons that we thoroughly enjoyed.
