What our customers say about their holidays

This is a lovely cottage for a family holiday.
There is plenty of room for everyone, with comfy sofas and some cute kids' chairs in the lounge. The kitchen is cottagey and cosy, and has everything you would need while self catering, including cooker with an induction hob and a slimline dishwasher, and there is a choice of two places to eat meals. There were nice touches like tulips (my favourite) and a chocolate cake on arrival. The cottage has lots of vintage/antique bits, and we loved the character, particularly the inglenook fireplace- I even learnt how to competently light the fire without assistance. The bedrooms are lovely, with comfortable beds and lovely views. They can get very chilly at night during a cold snap in February, so taking hot water bottles might be an idea. We enjoyed watching the trains go by - they do run fairly regularly day and night, and sound the horn. The dog, a nervous collie, was very relaxed and at home in this cottage and loved the walks from the back garden through the paddock and into the fields. It is worth noting that the garden isn't completely secure due to a gap next to the gate into the paddock, and a gap under the paddock gate, but I believe the fields are more secure, if you have a dog who has a better recall than ours. We really enjoyed the area, and did the canal walk to Copredy village (good walking boots needed this time of year). The Mulberry cafe is lovely, with very friendly staff, the Red Lion is a cosy traditional pub with friendly staff, and we can highly recommend the cafe at the National Herb Centre - very friendly staff, great service and lovely food. We also enjoyed looking round there and getting inspiration. We had lovely street food in Banbury, and enjoyed looking around. Further afield, Lower Slaughter, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water are great places to visit. All in all, this is a lovely cottage for a countryside getaway, and hoping that we and the dog will be back.Communication was quick helpful responses.

We were looking for a short term layover for a few weeks for when we bought our home sweet home, and thought we'd give Robellen House a go.
We were in for a complete treat! Everything about this place is brilliant, from the property, it's location and the host. The house itself is a lovely little corner tucked away in an idyllic village not too far from amenities( so theres a great Morrisons less than 10 minutes away, and also a Sainsbury's nearby). The place is designed amazingly well, and so always feels 'like home' which is great- the wife took quite a few house design ideas from it. Its airy and light I'm the daytime and quite warm and cozy at night. The kitchen is a pleasure to work in and the garden is massive and great for a game of footy with the toddlers. Theres some indoor games as well for when it rains and the host has a great TV set up with a choice of TV ranging from marvel movies to documentaries. Adderbury is a lovely, quaint village but isn't too far from the takeaway ( our favourite was the Banbury spicy kebabish in town ). There are lovely country walks around the area some of which lead to a nearby lake. The north part of the Cotswolds is only a short drive away and made for some memorable family trips. There's a spot in the driveway to park and there's plenty of space to park nearby The host, Karen, is brilliant and honestly we couldn't thank her enough for her help through our stay. She lives nearby so was always at hand to help if needed but never in an interfering way. She went out of her way several times to help us in the 3 weeks or so that we ended up staying: At one point the little ones broke some things (as they do) and the wife started to panic (as she does!) But Karen really took it in her stride and actually reassuring us and working out solution, making is truly feel looked after, which is a rare solace in these times. Overall this place is a rare gem and we'd thoroughly recommend this little corner- we will certainly be visiting again the next time we wish to explore the Cotswolds.

Our stay was amazing from the first to the very last day.
It started with welcome gifts that were so sweet & we devoured them :) Karen is such an amazing host and available should you need anything or have a question. She has truly thought of everything you may need during your stay. The place was so clean when we arrived. The entire place was spotless. It was the perfect space for me, my husband , and our two small kids. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals and plenty of room to do so. The bedrooms were spacious and the bedroom with the closet (pink decor) had enough room for the pack n play which was great. The beds were extremely comfortable and she has nice linens as well. The bathroom tub was a great size to bathe the little ones and the shower was nice and hot. We loved being able to relax in the cozy living room after a long day. Probably our favorite feature of the place is the beautiful garden. We spent many nights having dinner out on her lovely table and the kids would run around and play. Itâs gated so you donât have to worry about the kids running off. The birds you can hear in the morning having a cup of tea are so lovely. The area is very safe and has very nice neighbors. We were able to get to the town very easily. The coach and horses & red lion are less than a 5 minute walk and thereâs also a small grocery store in walking distance down by the bell. Should you need the catch the bus, there is also a very close bus stop as well. This place has anything you could possibly need for a lovely weekend in Adderbury. We will certainly be back. If youâre searching for a place just take our word for it , stop your search, and book Robellen!

This cottage is extremely well furnished with excellent linen on the beds plus high quality curtains, rugs, crockery and cooking equipment.
There is a lovely outdoor space to sit at the table and have a bbq-sadly for us the weather wasn't appropriate for this. The bedrooms are extremely spacious. Bathrooms well appointed though we would have liked to have the underfloor heating on as the week was quite chilly. The heating system was set on 19 degrees so the house was chilly in the morning but warmed up in the day. The fire was amazing --we lit it every night and were so pleased with the availability of logs. The top floor bedroom hasn't a door to the stairs so that needs to be pointed out as one of our number took a tumble. The Cottage is in a beautiful village and near so many lovely places. We found lots of walks and visited Daylesford Organics and walked through the estate, plus we were only 2 miles from Clarksons Farm. We recommend Batsford Arboretum, garden centre and fantastic cafe. One of our favourite walks walks from Naunton to Guiting Power village and cafe and back--even though it was pouring with rain. A LOvely comfortable house, beautiful villages and wonderful scenery made a brilliant holiday for us.

My wife and I are fortunate enough to be able to go on frequent holidays, as an example we have been on 7 this year and still have 2 to go.
My reason for making this point is we have a lot of other cottages to compare with. The cottage itself is very spacious, comfortable and inviting. This cottage is the best equipped that we have been to. Silly things like, rolls of grease proof paper, foil and cling film, oils for cooking, and condiments. There is a dishwasher, as there has been in all of the cottages, but this is the only one where we haven't had to buy rinse aid and salt because the warning lights for both were on. The owner, Tom, couldn't have been more attentive and openly asks if you have any problems or recommendations for improvement. My thoughts on the area and things to do are all quite subjective, so I won't bother. As an example most people talk about lovely walks. My wife is in a wheelchair so this is not a huge pluss for us. Comfort and feeling like being in a home from home is, and to that degree I can't recommend Stow Cottage Barn enough. We shall definitely be going back, as often as we can.
