  We had "syked ourselves up" to enjoy the luxury (on our Golden Wedding celebrations) of Underfloor Heating.

  However, the installed system decided otherwise. From our arrival @ 1520 on Fri 26/10/18 we had NO UNDERFLOOR heating, upstairs or down, until arriving back @ Hams House @ 1545 Mon 29/10/18. ( The expert plumber, Mr Thompson [needed for such a complicated system ] was not available until Mon 29th. And my, what a difference it was from Monday eve ! Just liked we'd paid for and expected from a reputable company ! Yes, Clare Venner provided us with an oil filled radiator heater. But this of course, still meant bare, cold, timber flooring, purposefully installed to enhance the underfloor heating experience - when it was working. As this experience was listed in the features, it was obviously a consideration in the pricing and something which attracted us to this property. If the property had been listed with oil-filled radiator . . . well, it wouldn't have got a look in. Therefore, we only received 4/7 of the stated highly important feature for an October/November holiday break. It's about now that you should be offering about £50 refund as a tangible way of showing your concern. I'd have emailed sooner but this alternative google a/c of mine, is not visited very often.   Cottage is a good size for a couple with a dog.

  Bed comfy, shower ok, good heating system. Good walks for the dog. Good for stargazing. Pub across road. Various places nearby, Brockhampton, Bromyard, Malvern, Worcester. However... We weren't aware this cottage was on a huge holiday park i.e. the type with loads of static caravans. This was a big, big negative for us. The site also now has my email address and (predictably) is already foisting 'benefits' of holiday home ownership, which I am not happy about. We went on holiday with Sykes not Park Leisure. Outdoor light was faulty, some of the crockery waa filthy, there was no welcome pack (not even a few teabags), no cushions on (hard) sofa/armchairs, Roman blinds covered up half the windows even when fully open, no coat hooks, the main contact number was HQ not the one for the site. We went in the bar opposite one evening and were met with rowdy very drunk people, so didn't go back. Generally, no chance of a return visit at this one. A letdown compared to numerous other Sykes cottages we have stayed in.

  Perfect cottage for two people.

  We couldn't think of anything that could have made it better. Pat and Brian are lovely considerate hosts. When it was really hot and none of the seating for the cottage had any shade, Brian brought round an umbrella and camping chairs so we could sit outside comfortably. The cottage stayed cool during the hot spell and the big fridge/freezer meant we had plenty of room to keep food and drink cold. Pat's jam was lovely and the eggs from the hens were delicious. We enjoyed every moment of our stay at the cottage, including the visit from the cheeky hen, and watching the hedgehog at dusk. The village is a great location for walking and for visiting numerous nearby National Trust properties. We also had a great day out on the steam railway from Toddington. Yes, you need a car make the most of the area, but you don't need to venture far to find plenty to do.

  Elmley Castle has to be the most delightful of all cottages I have yet visited.

  The Lovetts were so welcoming and absolutely charming, very quick to offer any, what I would have considered to be quite unnecessary, apologies - mostly relating to the entry drive which is awaiting restoration. The little annexe was so comfortable and quiet with every facility at hand. I was permitted, though I was careful to be discreet, to wander about their huge and most beautiful garden. And the location was out of this world - the most charming little village with an excellent, and very popular pub, nestling beneath the stunning Bredon Hill. I would not hesitate to award 5 plus stars to this venue which I will certainly visit again as soon as possible. Chris Bruce

  Ham's House is a beautiful place to relax and unwind.

  The communication with the host was great and they were very accommodating. Ham's House was beautifully decorated, very cosy, clean and in a wonderful setting. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed several walks from the property in the beautiful countryside. Inside the property were lots of walking pamphlets which we found very useful. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was lovely with lots of hot water. We would recommend the Live and let live pub where we had a fabulous homemade meal. We walked there which was a few miles through lovely scenery. We would definitely come back again and recommend to others.
