What our customers say about their holidays
Paul - Verified booking
One of the best appointed holiday lets we have ever stayed in, not only was the property perfect for our needs, well equipped and presented but the location was too!
From the welcome pack on arrival (which Geoff personally made the extra effort to alter as we are both non-drinkers) to the supremely well kitted-out kitchen, bathrooms and without doubt THE most comfortable bed either of us has ever slept in! Outside is a lovely little courtyard for sunny morning breakfasts and down the garden a decking area for evening relaxing watching the colourful paragliders lazily passing overhead. Stunning view across to the Cotswolds in the distance make for some great photo opportunities too. The location was ideal for exploring the Malvern's and surrounding areas and only a mile from the Three Counties Show Ground should you time your stay for one of the many events that go on over the year. Based at the foot of the Malvern Hills themselves it is ideally situated for keen walkers, dog owners and mountain bikers, just a five minute walk up the road and you're on the trails up the hills for what are some of the best views anywhere. We have had the best two weeks hear and could have stayed longer, no hesitation in recommending Geoff & Glynn's lovely cottage to anyone!

The chocolate box lives up to its name. You enter into a small hall bedecked with mirrors lit by two amazing lights 3 doors leave. To the left you have a bathroom complete with a double bath surrounded by old wood and verdigris coated copper. It also sports an antique mirror. The middle door leads to a double bedroom with a really comfortable modern four poster bed. Another unique light sets it off. Then we move to door 3 and the main living area. Once again a great colour scheme set off by multi coloured lights and another 2 great lights. Remote control blinds including one that doubles as a TV projector screen cover the windows. Great views from the back. Off road parking is available. It has only one negative and that is the lack of outside space. However across the road there is a very quiet road leading to a track up on to the hills great for those short doggy calls of nature. We were lucky to be the first guests at this place and I would highly recommend it.

The location is lovely, and secluded.
However unfortunately the owners had decided to drain the lovely big pond next to the lodge (One of the reasons we chose it) leaving it empty and muddy. They then brought a large digger in to remove the mud on the second day of our stay. They had left us a note and £50 compensation on our arrival informing us of the disruption. Which softened the blow a little. Then as we were about to pack and leave on at 8.40am on Friday they decided to try and hurry us up by using a petrol hedge trimmer right next to the lodge and by our car that we were loading to leave. As we got in the car the man stopped the trimmer and walked away. I had just had a lovely chat with the owner next door prior to this so have no idea why they felt the need to do this. Not a great experience for what is overall a lovely property. If you are going to be in this business then customers come first surely, consideration and communication.

We spent a very pleasant and relaxing week at Byefield lodge.
The lodge is spacious, very clean, warm and very well equipped. We also found a generous welcome basket with goodies for humans and dogs! The lodge is in a beautiful, peaceful setting with a large secure, private garden ideal for all and a large pond full of wild life: moor hens, ducks, birds. We watched the kingfisher from the kitchen window on the first morning and a muntjac zip across the garden. It made our day. The weather was kind to us that week. The lodge is centrally placed for visiting many places of interest. We like a hike and we « conquered » the Malvern Hills from north to south in 3 sections, visited Malvern town, Upton upon Severn, Ledbury and Elgarâs grave. Still plenty to see and weâd love to go back to Byefield.

Absolutely stunning cottage in a fabulous location.
Spotlessly clean and one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in. The owners had literally thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable- lots of nice touches such as fresh flowers, handmade soap and a fabulous welcome hamper . The only âbetter ifsâ are minor - we would have liked access to a vacuum as we were there for a week and also a guest guide with instructions and hints and tips would be helpful, however the owner did call in advance and gave us lots of helpful recommendations . We would highly recommend and would definitely return, we were there in November and the weather was kind but in warmer weather it would be lovely to sit in the garden with a glass of wine and a bbq
