  There were some issues with the property which we were unable to get resolved because the owner's contact phone numbers and our messages were not answered.

  This issue must be addressed. Issues were: no internet for the entire week, two dining chairs 'seats' were detached from the frames (useable with care), dining table was very wobbly (useable with care), toilet seat detached from the toilet (useable with care), two pink carpet stains covered by coffee table, no instructions on how to turn on the hot water (eventually found timer switch in upstairs toilet) or disposal of rubbish at the end of the stay (we left it bagged on the outside porch). On a more positive note the property was clean and we enjoyed our stay although the lack of internet was very frustrating and hindered our planning for the week. Since our return I have still been unable to contact the owner to make them aware of these issues or the general content of my feedback.

  Wonderfully luxurious to have such spacious rooms. We have stayed in Walberswick many times and we found that having such a very large garden made a big difference to the children, who spent plenty of time outside playing (note tree house is broken, but there are several wonderful swings). Multiple times a deer appeared in the garden, quite magical. We really liked the telly being off in its own snug room and not in the main living / dining room, that probably also helped keep the children outside! It was lovely to stay somewhere which gives the joys of a gorgeous traditional building - but then actually has easily-adjustable underfloor hearing and non-drafty windows. Great to have nice big table outside and loungers to enjoy the garden. All round very happy with the house.

  Our 3rd visit to The Great House and I actually think it gets better each time! Meals out, dinners in. Crabbing in the harbour and games in the lounge, drinks in the pub, parties in the garden, long walks through the fens, table tennis and Kubb on the lawn. Whether you stay in or go out, the house and the beautiful village of Orford have so much to offer! Be sure to buy ice cream from the van in the car park near the harbour, salted caramel is highly recommended... We will always be grateful for the late nights, sunny days, cold beers & sun burn! Great memories in the Great House. Don't even get me started on the cloud like beds and thoughtful touches from the owners that make this a real home from home (I wish...), Thank you!

  And what a great house!! We have had a truly magical week in spite of the fact that we came to celebrate grumpy Grandpa's 80th Birthday! He was keen to go to the 80s & 90s disco in the village believing he is now qualified! We all went to Have-a gate Island even though we already 'avocet' at home! We went to Orford Castle and it wasn't 'awful' but we did end up in A&E. We were charmed by the Open Gardens day and the opportunity to meet your neighbours. Exciting garden residents include a grass snake, a Muntjac, two fighting cats and our own dog, Fudge. Very competitive Crabbing - 44 crabs in an hour - you you bait that? An Unforgettable week!
