What our customers say about their holidays
Linda - Verified booking
The location was great and most of the cottage facilities were good, but there were some annoying problems.
The WiFi connection was very bad - our phones kept being disconnected and the TV connection to Netflix etc was impossible as it wouldn't stay connected. The oven didn't work (the knob seemed broken) so we only had use of the grill. In the main shower the head was too high and it was impossible to move (the piping came away when we tried) - this is annoying when someone of my wife's height (4' 11") wanted to shower but not wash her hair. The outside light by the back door didn't work. The radiators downstairs leaked. There was a continuous awful smell from, we believe, the oil tank and this permeated into the downstairs bedroom The owner did visit us but he only seemed interested in showing us the hot tub despite us saying we were not going to use it. It would be hard for the living room to comfortably sit 7 people even though the property is advertised for that amount. What was good was the location, the fenced in area for the dog, and the cleanliness of the property. This does seem like very negative feedback but we did enjoy our stay and these are relatively minor issues that could easily be addressed by the owner.

Diane and Brian at Sunnyside were warm and welcoming.
Sunnyside it is a beautiful location and the gardens, private woodland and field were amazing for our little dog. It was incredibly private to the point we really only caught sight of the owner twice. Sunnyside is extremely clean and very well equipped. The small enclosed garden faces south and again is very private. My elderly parents slept in the bedroom on a very comfortable bed. I slept on the bed settee, unfortunately I did have lower back pain before the holiday and the mattress on the bed settee for an adult wasnât padded enough ( the addition of a better mattress is needed). A childâs weight on it would be absolutely fine. The local pub is 5 minutes away on foot and is under new management and the food was very well priced and absolutely delicious. Diane and Brian make Honey it looks delicious and I have bought one to take home canât wait to try it. Thank you for a wonderful stay, hope to see you again in the future.

This is a lovely cottage.
Very cosy with everything youâll need to have a comfortable stay. The beds especially are very comfortable which can make or break a holiday if you suffer with back or joint problems. A lovely terraced garden is ideal for dogs but is accessed by steep steps to not ideal for young children or the infirm. The village itself is delightful with a village shop/post office and a pub. The area is beautiful and we were very lucky with good weather so took full advantage of walking our two dogs in the Quantocks every day. The views are breathtaking and we actually didnât need to venture far as there are so many lovely and interesting walks within a 5 mile radius. Be aware there are sheep everywhere and also deer so we kept our dogs on long lines most of the time whilst walking. Would definitely recommend this cottage and we hope to be back again soon.

The cottage was fantastic beyond our expectations , it was idyllic , picturesque , private and very quiet and peaceful .
It's great for wheelchair users , there being no step .The double doors at the front of the cottage have good access and the internal doors are extra wide . The wet room again , gives easy access . The gardens where a delight to walk around for a nice leg stretch . I have to say that Diane and Brian where a lovely couple that couldn't do enough for us . They was always at hand for any help or enquires we may have had and of course Ruby the little dog , what an absolute delight she is with her ball . Diane and Brians home made scrumpy and honey is a must try ! Thank you Diane and Brian for being lovely hosts . Best regards , Sherry & Mike Russell

An extractor fan in the bathroom would be a help.
The outdoor temperature for our stay was around 18 to 20 degrees. It proved difficult to air the bathroom as the heating was not scheduled to come on (there were no instructions about the heating so we assume it is pre-set). The bathroom is downstairs and the window opens into next door's yard, but in any case the overall temperature was too cool to drive away the damp feeling. This is not a major grumble, but it could be eased without too much trouble. The cottage is very snug and in a very attractive and convenient location. We had a very enjoyable holiday and we will certainly consider using Sykes again, and possibly coming back to Boo Cottage.
