What our customers say about their holidays

Absolutely beautiful property, tucked away and private.
my boyfriend and i stayed 5 nights and it was delightful. my only negative point would be the access to parking. it is nowhere listed in the property description how simply treacherous the driveway is and no images either (as far as i can see, so at least not easily viewable). i was warned of this by the property owner only on the day of arrival when i requested information on the key collection process. unless you take extreme caution to reverse (there is absolutely nowhere to even think about turning around once outside the cottage) the entire way down the 85m driveway (according to google maps) with *extreme* caution you will end up hitting a brick wall or a neighbours car, as they are parked along both sides of the drive at different points with extremely little to no wiggle room. it made arriving at the cottage seem like an impossible chore. however i am only noting this to let future renters aware if they are even slightly nervous drivers or fancy being able to get straight into bed after a long day holiday-ing. my boyfriend that has been driving 7 years dreaded the arrive home for this reason every day. otherwise the location is fantastic, only a 20 minute drive from alton towers where we spent three days in all, local eateries of different price ranges in even walking distance which were recommended to me by the property owner too:) we truly did enjoy our stay at lucky cottage the bed was so comfortable and the decorations so cozy, would 100% recommend to couples or older families as a lot of the decor was vintage and made me anxious of breakages (but that could also just be me).

The house was super clean and the welcome basket of goodies was generous. The Guest Homes team who manage the property were very responsive. We just wished we hadn't had to contact them so often during the stay with queries and problems. We found this property really hard work. It wasn't the relaxing short break we had hoped for. The cottage has impressive modern appliances, but there are no instructions on how to use them. We wasted so much time trying to work out how to make things work. For example, the Smart TV (it reported a problem with the aerial), the baffling minimalist remote control, the oven (to turn off the child lock feature so it would warm up). There is a QR code displayed in the property to access a guide to the property, but it had very little information and no guides to the appliances. Despite being able to turn the thermostat up and all the radiators turned to full, the cottage was cold and the radiators hardly got above lukewarm in many rooms. The hot water also didn't get above lukewarm despite using the boost button. The cottage is probably not ideal for cold/cooler months. Fortunately, the shower had its own heating source. We made the mistake of assuming the picture of the fireplace on the website meant there was an open or gas fire. Agreed it wasn't listed but when we booked this cottage other facilities weren't listed - like towels and a dishwasher - and they are definitely there. We understand the facilities list has now been updated but the fire remains out of action.

Lucky Cottage is a mid Victorian terraced property in a quiet and relaxing location.
The rear of the property overlooks a wooded valley which can be viewed and enjoyed from both inside and outside. The rear garden is well cared for and is a lovely area to have breakfast or pre-dinner drinks (weather permitting). Internally, the cottage is decorated and furnished to a high standard, and had all facilities and equipment we could need for our 4 night stay. It was spotlessly clean and tidy, spacious and comfortable. The owner has carefully chosen fittings and decoration to complement the age of the property, making it feel you are transported back to an earlier age, but with modern appliances. Not having stayed in this area previously, we were impressed with the interesting variety of places to visit locally; Churnet Valley Railway and the Caldon Canal, for example, and there are plenty of walks from your doorstep. Lucky Cottage is a great place to stay. We really enjoyed it's originality, comfort and space, combined with it's quiet, off-the-beaten-track location. Thank you, Anna.

Stayed for three nights bank holiday weekend away with family. Beautiful location and the cottage itself was very nice. We liked the mod cons and found them easy to navigate. Kitchen fully equipped with what you needed The garden is stunning and a THEE place to enjoy morning coffee. We even spotted a woodpecker. However, a maintenance issue was not resolved during our stay which was pretty vital for a comfortable stay with 4 adults having to share one toilet despite two being at the home. After lots of message to the host I would have preferred for them to say they had no staff available the whole weekend than telling me they had escalated the issue. There is a wobbly table which my 79 year old mother tightened and am aware this was mentioned on another review. There was a issue with cleanliness of a shade over the table with some dead bugs in there but I am aware its in the countryside. After returning home and several emails later Guest Homes have given me a 15% refund.

Beautiful home away from home. We felt instantly at home. Warm and cosy and beds you can sleep deeply in. The home in Bredon Norton is located in a beautiful, quiet and peaceful picturesque village. Etched in historic builds with absolute character, local walks will relax you instantly. The owner sent us exact instructions - otherwise we may have got it a little wrong. Lovely snacks and a bottle of wine supplied as well as exactly the right amount of complimentary cleaning items. Great fully equipped kitchen, books and entertainment (netflix) cosy garden, friendly neighbours and postman :) Gorgeous pub ‘fox and hound’, 4 minutes away. Amazing food and service. The Fleet Inn is a must by the river - Tewkesbury- Tyning. Hickories in Worcester is a must! Great day out with kids 45 mins away: Cotswold park & beach. Burton on the river and Stow on the wold - 30 ish minutes drive, all lovely days out too ??
