  We were really happy we chose this location as it was ideally situated in the heart of the Kent countryside and was the perfect base to explore the rest of the county. It was also easy to get to shops, takeaways and pubs for any food or provisions that we needed. The property itself was everything we could have hoped for. The cottage was comfortable and very well equipped, and the garden was a great place to relax and enjoy the good weather that we had. This all came at we thought was a very reasonable price, and compared very well with alternative properties that we considered. Finally we have to say a huge thank you to Chris and Amanda, the owners, who were exceptionally warm and welcoming, and extremely helpful. They made sure that our stay at the cottage was thoroughly enjoyable. We wholeheartedly recommend this property. Ged and Jackie Balk, Lancashire.

  Had a lovely week at Swallows Return. The barn is in a peaceful location & we were able to relax & enjoy the peace & quiet of the Kent countryside. Ashford was less than 15 minutes drive & has everything you need including supermarket & gym (essential for me)! The owners were wonderful hosts & went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. They welcomed us to share the 2 acres of beautiful garden so that we could walk our dog. The garden is full of fruit trees so we easily managed our 5-a-day. ‘Scrumping’ was actively encouraged. With the provisions provided on our arrival the owners left some homemade apple juice & upon leaving presented us with some Victoria plum jam. On ‘our’ star rating we’d rate the accommodation & hosts with their hospitality 5 out of 5

  Absolutely lovely barn accommodation surrounded by the owners’ very special garden (which they kindly allow guests to explore) and countryside beyond. It is just 5 or 6 miles to the sea at Dymchurch, St Mary’s Bay, Littlestone and Greatstone, with the very pleasant seaside town of Hythe a little further, and the country roads were no problem even for a large car. The shopping outlet village at Ashford is worth a visit if you enjoy shopping and a bargain, about 6 miles away. The owners are friendly and they have clearly put a lot of thought and care into furnishing and equipping the barn, it is very comfortable indeed and finished and furnished to a high standard. We couldn’t fault it and would recommend Swallows Return without hesitation.

  Had a lovely week staying at Autumn barn annexe. Amanda & Chris are wonderful hosts and have plenty of advice where to visit/ eat out! but the stars have to be Dougie, Ethel & Bertie ( adorable westies) who we fell in love with! The cottage is conveniently placed to see all Kent has to offer. So peaceful, the gardens are just idyllic and a wonderful place to sit in the sun at the end of a busy day sightseeing. The air conditioning was a welcome addition. You have every thing you could need in the kitchen and the lounge was very cosy. We found the bathroom is a bit bijou but it didn’t spoil our stay.   Swallows Return is a wonderfully comfortable and very well furnished cottage in a quiet location. The owners are welcoming and helpful hosts and their extensive garden is fantastic. This was our first visit to this part of Kent and we were not disappointed by the beautiful countryside, which is great for cycling as it is relatively flat. There are plenty of interesting things to see in the surrounding area, although most required a car journey of at least 30 minutes; a small price to pay for staying in such a quiet spot. I found dealing with Kent & Sussex Holiday Cottages very easy and the staff are friendly and efficient.
