What our customers say about their holidays
Alicia - Verified booking
This is an absolutely fantastic property.
It is very spacious and in a perfect location. The beach is a two minute walk away. Trearddur bay is a beautiful bay. There is a local shop and ice cream parlour/bar/restaurant in the bay. Then big supermarkets a five minute drive away. The house has everything you need. There were ten of us. The hot tub was amazing it made our holiday. The bedrooms are very spacious too. The house was a little difficult to find. The sat nav takes you to the road itâs on but itâs a very long road and the house sign is not very visible. We called the number given to us and got specific directions to find it and it was fine. my sister ordered an online shop to come on the first day of our trip but the driver couldnât find it either, he called once but she missed the call, so he went to his next job and so she had to collect the shopping the next day from Tesco. The lock on the downstairs toilet is broken this was really a problem for us. The only thing that wasnât at the house was any cleaning products, there were ten of us staying a full week so we had to go buy some anti bac spray so that we could wipe down the toilets and sinks each day. Some bleach and spray for the toilets would have been useful. I used the dryer on the first day and unbeknown to me the water tank was full and the filter was completely clogged . It didnât work at all because of this and when my husband had a look to see why it wasnât working he pulled out the water tank and it was completely overflowing with water everywhere! The filter looked like it hadnât been cleaned for a month! Luckily he noticed it as this is a serious fire hazard! This type of dryer needs the filter and the water tank emptying after every cycle. Something to note regarding the beach is that the tide doesnât go out till about 2pm. So on our first day it was glorious weather we headed down to the beach about 10.30am and as there was such little beach with the tide being in we barely got a spot big enough for us to put a towel down together. So if there is a lot of you and itâs a great day weather wise you need to get down there first thing otherwise thereâs literally no space at all! The next day we took the sun tent down to the beach at 9 am and set up a spot for us all and weâre fine but it soon filled up around us very quickly. Once the tide goes out about 2 there was lots of beach. All in all a gorgeous property, and we would stay again. The location is ideal and the house had fab touches like the table football which my boys loved and the x box.

We stayed for a week at this property.
Unfortunately, there were a number of issues. Firstly, the refrigerator was not functioning correctly, we raised this as soon as we could with Sykes (9am Monday morning) who failed to deal with it that day. We called again the following day and we were given a just about ok replacement about 2/3 way through our week though it was on the other side of the island so made it difficult still to use the kitchen effectively. This whole situation also meant that we lost a couple of hundred £ of food which went bad within 2 days of us arriving and we then had to eat out at a premium, which was not intended. Secondly the cleanliness of the property was not great Iâm sorry to say, stained sheets, a mouldy smelling carpet on top floor, black mould on inside windows, dirty & dusty in a lot of places, damp patches all over the place especially in the bedrooms. It was really disappointing considering we paid nearly £4K for the week. The back gate had no lock so was a security hazard for our young child and gate was smashing loudly through the storms on our last couple of nights. The property looks ok at face value but needs updating to warrant the price being charged, you canât sit on the sofa as the leather is cracked and it hurts your legs, the other sofa is very old and low down and the double chair is like sitting in a rock so difficult to sit on in any comfort. The beds were hard and not great mattresses so a couple of our party got bad back ache, not pleasant. People should be aware that the property is right on a busy T junction and so it can be noisy with the road as well as revellers at the restaurant over the way. Even with ear plugs in, those in the front first floor bedrooms struggled to get to sleep. We were after a peaceful holiday so I think this ought to be clear to people booking as if you have young kids they would struggle. Also parking for 3 cars would be a nightmare so not sure how itâs even possible, 2 at a push maybe. Be great as other have said to arrive to a hot hot tub but it was hot by the second day. On the upside the beach which was lovely is walkable, great park and cafes around and about (though booking is needed) and the hot tub was great even on a rainy day. Sadly wouldnât choose to stay here again but I hope the owners get the feedback from here so that they can continue to improve experience & warrant what they are charging as our week cost an arm and a leg and just wasnât up to scratch sadly. Sorry :(

I was told there was a separate WC at the house in addition to the main bathroom.
I was not told the owner had ripped out the downstairs loo and locked the door before our visit. If I had known there was only one WC I would not have booked the house. A downstairs loo would have also kept down the traffic on the stairs. The house has been refurbished to a high standard and the kitchen is really good and works well. And the hot tub was marvellous and was really enjoyed. However the TV was not set up for use and it took most of December 23rd to get it sorted out, the two double plugs in the living room area did not work, the conservatory was too cold to use and hardly enticing for book choices. Also the bed duvets were flimsy and inadequate for winter and although there were inviting little trugs full of blankets, when opened they proved too small to fit over the beds. They were cot sized. Towels were on the small side too. Coming out of a hot tub into the winter air we could have done with larger bath sheets. Also the lack of a dustpan and brush did not help us keep the place as clean as we wanted and the provision of a hair dryer and larger saucepans would have been good. A lot of time and energy has been devoted to small details like homilies on the walls and fancy cushions but more basic things like removing the thick layer of dust on all the wardrobe shelves in the main bedroom requiring us to keep clothes in suitcases would have been more to the point. Unless this sounds churlish we all thought the pile of crackers, the Christmas card, the pack of mince pies, bottle of wine and the Christmassy decorations on the table to welcome us, were lovely and really appreciated. So mix of successes and failures really. Didn't spoil our Christmas but all the things we mentioned could have improved the place. And finally the empty grate and the (empty) log basket cries out for a wood burning stove instead of an empty void in the sitting room where the sofas were slippery and cold.Perhaps the balance between style and substance was a little awry?

The property itself has a number of issues that need resolving.
1. Bed mattresses are in a terrible condition particularly the single mattresses. They are not fit to sleep in and need replacing. You can literally feel all the springs. The children in the party just about managed to sleep on them but they would be totally unsuitable for an adult to sleep in. When arrived home after the holiday my child commented that they were âglad they could now sleep in a comfortable bedâ. 2. The property is advertised for 12 people. However, the pull out bed in the living room is in a disgusting condition and hadnât been cleaned in ages. It was full of sand and wasnât very pleasant at all. I canât believe they are advertising this as a bed suitable to sleep in. 3. Some items of broken furniture in the house. My niece slept in a bed that was broken at the bottom and the table football was wonky and potentially unsafe. 4. The bedroom my children slept in had black mould on the window which we had to clean on arrival. There was also a significant damp issue on one wall which resulted in the room smelling unpleasant all week. 5. Mould around the edge of the showers. My husband ended up going shopping for cleaning stuff and had to clean around the shower. The house is in desperate need of a deep clean! 6. Half of the hot tub filters donât work. This is mentioned in reviews back in June and still has not been fixed. It also had a lot of sand at the bottom when we arrived and hadnât been cleaned properly. This was probably due the fact that when we arrived the cleaners children were in the hot tub!!!! We contacted Sykes about the issues and were told the property owners would be in contact but no-one responded back to us for weeks. We received no explanation for the issues and it is obvious that the property owner couldnât care less! It is ridiculous that when you are paying so much money basic maintenance and cleaning isnât done!!!

AVOID Very disappointedâ¦.
Donât waste your money! We arrived on the Saturday and within an hour the kitchen door came away from two of its hinges. We fixed this after the caretaker advised on the location of a screwdriver, it came away the next day! Sat down for board games at the dining table only for the dining chair to collapse with me. All seats were also stained. Sunday my partner wanted a shower only to find the en-suite shower doesnât work. Went to main bathroom and the temperature dial was so stiff I had to use a towel to get it to an acceptable temperature for all the family to use. The children went to use the hot tub and it wasnât filled up enough so we had to fill it up and then wait for it to heat up. The dishwasher was a third full with dirty dishes. The sofa had a large rip on the cushion. Lamp didnât work in one of the bedrooms. Main bedroom mattress was so uncomfortable that I chose to sleep on the floor, it was stained and too thin to provide any support. The garden furniture was beyond filthy and too dirty to even be used. We reported all complaints and the landlord advised someone would be with us the next day, no one showed up. Maintenance showed up Wednesday and couldnât fix the shower as it needed parts, advised we couldnât use the hot tub as it was out of chemicals and there were no more to provide. This makes me conclude that the hot tub wasnât serviced. Maintenance arrived the following day to clean the garden furniture but didnât bring any hot tub chemicals. We had three days where we couldnât use the hot tub. We booked a 5 bedroom and 3 bathroom property for my daughterâs 18th birthday and were are very disappointed with the rental accommodation. Dear owner I believe a full refund is warranted!
