What our customers say about their holidays

I was looking for somewhere for me and my son to stay whilst in Newquay learning to surf.
There is so much choice out there in therms of accommodation, but I have to say how lucky we feel to have found Rosen. It is in a great location; 5 minutes walk and you are on the beach, everywhere else you want to go in the area is a 20 minute walk, maximum. The property is in a quiet location, is extremely modern (loved the Sonos across the property), extremely comfortable (very welcome after an 8 hour journey from home, and then after a tiring day in the sea), and we thought the views were great - we loved waking each morning and checking the surf (and admiring the skill of the surfers) from the second bedroom (the room with the best view in our opinion). The views are limited (due to property in front), but we felt the description âsea glimpsesâ was almost too cautious, as we found the views of the sea and the golf course to be great, and varied from room to room. Very modern kitchen appliances and every utensil, plates, cups, glasses etc you could ever need. Bathrooms luxurious and the towels provided were of the highest quality. The outdoor shower was a welcome addition as it allowed us to wash the sand off after each day at the beach, to avoid taking into the apartment. The whole place felt safe and secure, including the private parking. And finally, a shout out to the housekeeper Tracey - the apartment was spotless when we arrived, her communication prior to our visit and on arrival was second to none. Thank you also to Tim and Tina, the owners, almost instant reply when I had a couple of questions. There is no doubt we will be returning to Newquay, and Rosen will be our accommodation of choice if available.

Very disappointed by the experience.
Was not as listed. Did not have an enclosed garden, the fourth "wall" was the height of a wellington boot. I received a call back from a colleague who said that the owner admitted that this wasn't an enclosed garden and that the website would be updated. This didn't help with our problem though. An enclosed garden was the most important part of the property for our needs (three dogs) and we wouldn't have booked it if we had seen that fourth wall. We were told that I was expected to supervise my dogs while in the garden - I agree but our level of supervision was very different to the person who occupied the holiday property behind us, they could supervise their dogs from the door when they were let out which we witnessed. We however had to put our shoes and coat on and the dogs on a lead to take them out to the garden. Then to add insult to injury on our return we received an email accusing us of theft of a knife block and money had been taken from our account to replace the knife block that we didn't steal. The email also included the following "Please let us know if you have any further questions about this" which I did and requested someone to call me as when I called the phone wasn't answered. However, instead replied via email sending a copy of T&C's and that if I wasn't happy to go through small claims court. The whole experience caused great upset and we don't recommend dealing with a company like this.

This is our third stay at Offshore and it is a really great cottage for a family holiday.
The cottage is well equipped for a self catering stay having plenty of crockery, cutlery, pans, utensils etc. There is also a washer, dryer and dishwasher so there is everything you need for your stay. We had three couples in our party and found the sleeping arrangements perfect for us - 2 good doubles, one en suite and one family bathroom upstairs, plus another double and a cloakroom downstairs. There is a fourth bedroom upstairs which was made up as a double but can also be a twin. There is a good amount of storage in most of the bedrooms. Only the downstairs bedroom seems to lack hanging space but this didnât cause any issues for us. So Offshore works well for a number of groups. The lounge is spacious with 2 settles and 2 armchairs and has sliding doors to the garden. The garden is fully enclosed so itâs great for anyone with dogs like us, as we knew they were secure. The house is located a short walk from the village shop and pubs and of course the beach. There is space on the drive for 2 cars - a real bonus in Crantock. The village is only small but has 2 pubs, a tea room and village shop which is well stocked. The shop is also a post office. The beach is beautiful and you can even walk to Newquay from here. A perfect base for visiting North Cornwall. We have already booked for 2019 so that says it all really.

The house is ideally situated for a holiday by the sea with a beautiful sandy, accessible beach a mile away and country walks from the doorstep.
A few minutes walk away is a well stocked village post office providing all the essential items for a short holiday. Good characterful, gastro pubs are close by; quick access to main roads enable day trips to nearby towns and attractions. The house and its facilities are high quality. However, there is one significant complaint which I am sure can be easily rectified and will not detract from the property. The bottom step of the stairs is not carpeted and the oak finish to the step blends with the oak colour of the flooring making it easy to mis judge when coming downstairs. Within the first 24 hours, my 30 year old daughter and, more seriously, my 70 year old husband both fell badly down the bottom step. My husband fell flat on the floor. Amazingly, in spite of having two replacement hips and a replacement hip, he only suffered shock and severe bruising to his hips. I feared that it could have been much worse. My daughter bruised and grazed her hip. Neither individual had seen the bottom step. We bought a bathroom slip mat to secure to the bottom step to make it more visible and to avoid further falls. It needs to be rectified before a more serious accident occurs, which I assume Sykes will ensure happens. My complaint shouldn't make anyone doubt the overall excellent quality of the property and its location.

The House wasnât set up for 4 pm arrival and the property manager came around 4.
30 to 4.45 to put in toilet rolls, bring replacement duvet etc. I reported to her the extractor in en suite wasnât working which she said would get sorted, it turned out both bathroom extractors didnât work. The house could do with a real good deep clean, we were all sneezing from dust and under beds and sofas was really bad, the lounge also smelt of dog, yes I have dogs but mine donât smell like that. The grass wasnât cut in the garden and as such made it difficult to clean up after the dogs, there was also a large plant over growing the front path which made it difficult to get a buggy past. Just a few irritations but paying 2k for a week , I did really expect it to be perfect. I know these issues could have been sorted but after reporting the extractors to the manager, we didnât really want people coming in and out during the week to sort issues, this should have been done before we got there.
