What our customers say about their holidays

Lovely place, good location.
The accommodation was spotless, beds comfortable. Curtain and blinds were of top quality the best I have ever had in any accommodation I have stayed in. The only thing, there could be a few more kitchen utensils. A vegetable peeler, a strainer spoon, serving spoon and a potato masher. The shower is very good but the shower organiser is very rusty. The sofa was a little bit low and I did have a bit of difficulty getting up off it but i do have long legs, but again it was of a very good quality and comfortable. Overall I can not fault the place. Plenty of space for putting your clothes, I like the hanging rails, the coat hangers again were of a good quality, not your normal wire or plastic. The Wi-Fi was quick and never faltered and a good size and easy to use. We had a lovely stay, slept well. Even the dog relaxed in the place, she does get anxious sometimes but not here. I would recommend this accommodation to friends and family.

This property was in a very central location so ideal for exploring Anglesey, everywhere we went seemed to be about a 20 minute drive away!
It was very light, clean and airy and was ideal for the 2 of us for our 3 night stay. It was very well equipped, and spacious apart from the kitchen but thankfully we had seen that from other reviews. There is no proper cooker, just a 2 ring hob which is in the cupboard and a combi microwave so it was a bit of a struggle juggling everything to cook a meal. The images on the website aren't up to date as there is now a wooden kitchen trolley which was extremally useful, as well as a plate rack on the wall. It was a pity there was no freezer but again we knew this before we stayed, there was just an ice box in the fridge which never really got cold. The property is very private, we did occasionally hear the owners but never saw them which was actually a bit odd! We appreciated the jug of milk in the fridge and lovely chocolate cakes left for us! We would certainly stay there again for another short break.

We recently stayed here as a base for our honeymoon and it was amazing!
It was a beautiful basecamp for our special holiday. The light and airy décor and the aesthetics of the garden area that was ours to use made it feel as if we were abroad rather than a staycation. It was a little slice of Costa del Anglesey. The facilities provided are the perfect balance of just enough to survive but not too fully functioning that you are encouraged to go out and explore and try the local eateries. Yes the owners are technically on site as the property is adjacent to their own but apart from a little hello at the beginning of our holiday they kept themselves out of they way and weren't intrusive at all allowing us our privacy and freedom to enjoy ourselves. I would say for a couple looking for a little escape this place was perfect. Beautifully romantic and very impressively well kept.

My feedback is well documented through a complaint we submitted on return (but also via Instagram with Menai Holidays before we checked out).
It's about the accuracy of the listing primarily, and the lack of sleep we had due to poor mattress and pillows. The cottage itself is contemporary and well presented, the towels were fluffy and large, it was clean on arrival - some minor maintenance issues, but nothing major. EV charging point was a God-send having just bought an electric vehicle. However, the main reason for booking was the claim that it was near a beach. That is absolutely not a beach that can be used in the same way as, for example, Newborough or Red Wharf Bay. More mud and rocks with two small patches of sand - one far too small to use near the car park and one inaccessible with a 9 year old. It was suggested we could walk 10 minutes up the lane - on a busy road with no pavements at either side - with a child, beach equipment and lunch!

What a wonderful holiday!
The scenery is amazing, the photos donât do it justice. We regularly saw pheasants, birds of prey, even a barn owl only feet away from us. The sea is also in clear view. The area is totally silent and there is no light pollution to stop you seeing the stars whilst in the hot tub! The hut is excellent, spotlessly clean, everything you would need is provided. The bed is comfiest Iâve ever slept in. You do need a car to get about but once you know where you are itâs not too far to takeaways, restaurants and supermarkets. If you want a peaceful, relaxing holiday I really recommend you visit shepherds stone. Upon returning we immediately booked to go back for a week next year! Host is really friendly, lives not far behind hut and is available if ever needed. Thanks Tracy! xx
