What our customers say about their holidays
Rachel - Verified booking
The house was ample size for our party of seven, however there were quite a few things needing some tlc.
Broken chairs and lamps, shower doors loose, pans that have seen better days etc. We also felt that it wasnât as clean as it could be under the surface. There is a lot of clutter and personal items scattered around especially in the kitchen. It needs a really good sort out to make the space more neutral for guests rather than feeling like you are borrowing someoneâs living space. I wouldnât expect to find a cupboard full of food, for example or a very unorganised kitchen drawer full of odds and ends. Saying that we made good use of the appliances, the huge dining table and the laundry room. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and the location is ideal for the beach and shops (only 5 mins away). We didnât use the garden as we felt it was too untidy to really enjoy it. The place just needs a bit of stripping back and updating and it will be ideal for large groups to enjoy lovely Cromer. Having private parking is a bonus! We took advantage of the short drive to sheringham and North Norfolk railway and would recommend a trip to Bewilderwood for children! Amazing place! Also recommend Bucket List for loaded fries only a few mins from the property and also enjoyed a few drinks in Gangway. Another small gripe was that the owner came to start cleaning the house before our check out time and when she realised we were still inside, sat waiting outside the door making us feel rushed. Otherwise, with some small improvements this property is ideal for multi generational families to use as a base for a typical British seaside holiday!

Lovely clean and tidy bungalow in a good location with parking for 2/3 cars.
All few days before I received a call from the owner with all the details needed for our stay, plus a follow up email with all the information which was very helpful. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk was available to use on arrival. 2 sofas in the lounge, so seating for 5 people. Dining table seats 6, plus there's a highchair available too. Cupboard with various games and dvds. 3 bedrooms, two doubles. We slept in the one opposite the bathroom and there was room for a travel cot (we took our own, but there was one in the cupboard), the bed was too firm for us, but that's down to personal preference. The bunk beds were good for kids, the bottom bunk was rather low, perfect for our 3 year old. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of pans, plates, cups etc. Dishwasher works well and there salt and rinse aid if needed, plus tablets to use. The washing machine is a washer/drier which worked well. There was cling film and other extras available to use which were very handy. The bathroom is a good size and has a big bath with shower over. (a grab rail would be useful on the bath to help getting in/out). We didn't use the garden but it looked a good size with some garden furniture. We ordered Chinese takeaway one night from the menus available 'Kantar' (red leaflet), they don't deliver so went to collect and food was really good, definitely recommended if looking for a Chinese takeaway. There's a nortic theme throughout which is lovely. Overall a great place to stay thats clean tidy and comfortable.

First impressions of Mayfield werenât good as we were greeted with dirt on the Hall carpet as we opened the door.
We had a long journey with very busy traffic, therefore we were ready for a cup of tea on arrival. To our disappointment there was no welcome pack, only a few coffee sachets & teabags & no fresh milk in the fridge, not even 1 pint, however we did find some milk sachets that were 6 months out of date. The beds available consisted of 4 off 2ft 6inch mattresses each, which could be put together for 2 adults, but we still had to sleep on bunk bed size mattresses. On the plus side the bedding & towels were very good and clean + the neighbourhood was quiet & ideally located in Cromer. The lounge area felt very sterile with no cushions on the sofa to help you relax after a busy day. Cleanliness of Mayfield wasnât to a great standard, we didnât use the washing up bowl provided in the kitchen as it was thick with grease, the sink had no plug to use. Although the sink & bath were clean, it was obvious that the toilet had not been given the same attention at the bottom of the pan. The bungalow has access issues into the back garden, you have to go out of the front door and go through a bolted gate into the back, this would lead to concerns of safe play for toddlers outside the home. We were due to stay until Friday but decided to leave on Wednesday as we didnât sleep well due to the tiny width of the mattresses, it would have been much better with 3ft mattresses as there is plenty of room in the bedrooms for them. We have stayed in many Sykes listed cottages over the years but have to say this is not one of the best.

“Randall Crescent has become our go-to getaway when visiting Cromer. Tucked just a little out of town in a peaceful spot, this modern end-of-terrace gem offers a stylish, comfy base for our coastal escapes. The master bedroom boasts a lovely en-suite, and there’s a cosy twin room that’s perfect for the kids. Downstairs, the open-plan kitchen and lounge are bright, airy, and open out onto a neat little garden—ideal for morning coffees or evening wind-downs. It’s a win for dog owners too! While pups aren’t allowed upstairs or on the furniture, a handy stair gate is provided to help keep the peace (and the upholstery intact). Cromer itself is charming and super dog-friendly, with plenty of great places to eat—just be sure to book ahead in peak times. A real home-from-home with holiday vibes—we’ll definitely keep coming back!”

Spotlessly clean compact bungalow in quiet residential area at night.
Just right for two oldies. Beds comfortable and excellent fridge freezer at good low temperature. TV and washing machine a bit complicated. Shame Covid prevented outside furniture but weather was cool for May as it has been throughout the country! Good base for birdwatchers as some reserves not much more than an hour or less away. Recommend Sculthorpe, Cley and Hickling Broad. Titchwell was far too busy even without Covid and that was on a cold, blustery Thursday. Didnât spend much time in Cromer although pleasant to walk along the front. Would consider using the bungalow again.
