What our customers say about their holidays

The location is very peaceful on a working farm but is remote as we expected and you do need a car.
The hosts Mr and Mrs Hobbs are great there if you need them but not intrusive. The description for the bedroom in the eaves I think needs to be made clearer for the round house. It is completely open to the seating are below and there is no door on the bedroom. If someone is in bed and there are people in the kitchen/seating area they would be disturbed as happened for us. I do not sleep well but did not want to get up in the middle of the night and disturb my daughter in the upstairs room. Some of the property is looking tired - the bathroom is very dark and has dark wall covering and there is no natural light and the seal around the bath is looking very tired - I found the bathroom rather depressing. The kitchen is also looking rather tired but has plenty of items for any kind of cooking and the cooker and hob worked fine. The settee is also very old and rather uncomfortable. The surrounding grounds are lovely on this property and there are a number of picnic tables you can make use of but no seating area outside this property as it opens up onto the side where cars park. There is a table outside the window to the side of the kitchen which we used a few times. There can be a number of large trucks passing through to the next farm and they do go rather fast - more a warning for anyone with dogs and children - not enough to spoil the amazing peace of this property. We would stay at Lee Barton Farm again but not in the round house if there were more than 2 of us due to the bedroom being so open and the bathroom. Had a great week and walked to Duckpool a steep walk but lovely when you get there.

What a wonderful cottage; well presented, with beams and slate flint walls.
Bed was comfortable, kitchen well appointed and included a washing machine but no dishwasher; downstairs loo was fine, and the upstairs bathroom was well appointed with shower but no bath. Main bedroom cupboard had a rather distressing smell, with a few dead bugs. Wonderful fenced off garden, not even our ace-escape artist dogs could find a way out. Property faces onto a large meadow, ideal for the dogs; the rear of the property faces into what was once a farm yard; longish driveway and plenty of parking space. A couple of little niggles: TV is far too small, the floors were sticky (everywhere else was sparkly clean). The ten minute walk down the local pub is indeed ten minutes down a very steep hill; the one hour plus slow walk up, with multiple stops is challenging - especially when full of fish and chips :) Overall highly recommended accomodation in a beautiful part of the country!

We had a lovely stay, during the recent very hot weather.
Having the stable doors was a godsend! The house was lovely and cool. Great location, with all the places we like to visit no more than 15 mins away (polzeath, Daymer bay, padstow, port Isaac etc) Plus Wadebridge of course. There is an M&S/petrol station 3 mins drive away which we found very useful as we arrived quite late in the day. The house was well equipped for cooking & has a Nespresso machine if you like coffee. Good shower, which is always a bonus on holiday! I imagine the house is very cosy in the winter months too with the wood burning stove. The only comment we had was the double bed is smaller than we are used to, but my other half is 6ft4! It wouldnât stop us visiting again though as we loved our stay at Kingfisher Cottage. .

A wonderful stay and the pictures do not do the property justice.
Very clean, comfortable and has everything you could need. The garden is secure for the dogs and the field opposite the gate, with lovely views, was very welcome for a quick morning walk with the dogs before heading out for the day. Lounge was comfortable and the recliner sofas very welcome after a long day of walking! Internet access is intermittent, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't, but this was no great shame to 'switch off' off for a while and a quick stroll up the garden path ensured mobile data could connect if needed. Overall, a great place for exploring - never more than an hour away from all the places we wanted to go. Loved it so much we have already booked to go back in June!

We have had a wonderful stay at Kingfisher cottage this week.
The weather & coastal path walking has been stunning. Edmonton is a really good base for exploring this part of Cornwall. Regrettably, the award winning âQuarrymanâsâ pub, close by, was closed for refurbishment for the majority of our stay. Unfortunately the log burner here seemed to be due a major service/ repair due to a faulty grate mechanism so that was disappointing. We visited in early January and the cottage was quite cold and we struggled to get warm. Otherwise we would highly recommend this location. If youâre looking for a special meal out youâd struggle to beat âThe Marinerâsâ at Rock. The Cornish Arms pub in St Merryn is also well worth a visit. â¦
