What our customers say about their holidays
Lauren - Verified booking
We really enjoyed this stay and the house is lovely.
We definitely felt like not including some of the amenities made it less homey, less like an Airbnb type "home from home" stay and more like when you rent a static caravan. This brought the rating down for me as having to bring bedding, towels and tea towels means you're having to pack more! We only had one hand soap in one bathroom, having handsoap in all bathrooms and the kitchen is a welcome homely touch and guests wouldn't think about bringing handsoap to a holiday home so we had to share a handsoap between 4 toilets and 6 people. Other than this one point, the house is lovely, the location is stunning and we had such a lovely holiday. The layout of the kitchen area is perfect and the sofa was comfy which is not very common when you stay away somewhere!! Overall, loved it and if the points I made about making it more homely and relaxing for guests to visit were received and actioned, this would be a perfect property!!

This was a last minute booking due to our early holiday this year spoilt by the British weather.
So saw this cottage with just the week we needed ideal. The directions we received to find the cottage were spot on. The cottage has everything you need for a perfect holiday .Edward and his wife had left us a lovely cream tea and a bottle of local wine .This was our first visit to this part of Cornwall its close to the likes of padstow and rock we even went to look for doc martin in port issac. Then there,s Bodmin,St Austall and we even got to Falmouth.Bodmin for all your main supermarkets just 5 miles away. The town of lostwithiel just down the hill with old world charm and a butchers with blackpuddings to die for even if it did come all the way from the north of Scotland.I found this cottage to be a jem trouble is now by telling everyone how good it was come next year booked up ,never mind it was well worth the long drive

Beautiful cottage, connected to another rental piece of the barn, in a stunning location.
Warm welcome with scones etc, milk, fresh flowers and WINE in the fridge! How welcoming! The sofa is terrible, should really be changed to something more comfortable, this one left us with back-ache..... even though we put all the extra pillows in it to make it a bit better. The bed was something we worried about when we first lied on it... But in the end we slept well in it! And it is HUGE!! Nevertheless, in my opinion (and reading reviews from months ago I wasn't the only one) it is time to renew it. It squiks, you feel the mattress springs and it feels as if you roll out of the bed. We saw the owner only twice short, which is fine, but gave me no change to tell him this, so I wrote it in the questbook.

Gorgeous stone cottage set in tranquil rural location, very quiet and peaceful so a good nights sleep is guaranteed.
The cottage was very clean, comfortable, well equipped and lovely and cosy. The perfect retreat to come back to after a day out exploring the many beautiful places of interest in this delightful county. Lostwithiel is close by and has a number of eateries our favourite was the Royal Oak good food and very friendly staff. The Duchy tearooms also well with a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Byre and would definitely recommend to others . Our thanks to our hosts for a warm welcome and the many treats the wine scones, jam, clotted cream , milk and flowers so kind and thoughtful and much appreciated.
