What our customers say about their holidays
Mrs Sarah Green - Verified booking
This is a fantastic and interesting property with plenty of room for the six people who stayed there for a week. It is a 0.75 mile walk to the pub and good village shop, otherwise you will need a car to explore. We were disappointed not to find a welcome pack of any sort at the house. In other properties we have stayed in there has been milk in the fridge, tea and coffee available, and maybe cake and biscuits or some other local produce, and on one occasion, sparkling wine, custom coffee mugs and fridge magnets! Here, there was nothing except 4 old looking coffee sachets in a scruffy jar, and 3 dishwasher tablets. There was barely enough washing up liquid to last the week, and none of the waste and recycling bins had been emptied the previous week. There was no paper and card recycling bin available. The collection day changed while we were there, so this needs to be updated in the home manual. This is not a cheap property to rent, and if we had had a long drive to get there, would have been very disappointed to have to go back out just to get something as basic as milk. The above criticism is not to put the property down, it is a stunning place and has been well thought out for holiday letting, and is highly recommended by us, but we feel that it has some customer satisfaction issues to resolve.

We had a lovely week at Paddock View.
The nice weather was a welcome bonus! Lesley and Steve were very friendly, and helpful hosts. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. The bedroom on the upper floor was very spacious and comfortable, with an en-suite. Good quality bed linen and towels. The downstairs area is open-plan, and spacious enough. However, we found the settee uncomfortable for anything more than 10 minutes The rental property is situated at the rear of the owner's home, accessed through the gardens. The photos in the listing include several images of the owner's property as well as the rental accommodation. Parking was a bit of an issue; there wasn't a dedicated space per se, and we had to shuffle spaces with the hosts' vehicles to gain access or exit. The use of the sun room / conservatory, like the gardens, were subject to the hosts not using them. Luckily, this was never an issue for us. The washing machine and laundry facilities are in the owner's house subject to a small charge for use, and consequently, to their being home!

The owners were very helpful and available when we called or texted them.
The cottage was clean. The location of the cottage is within a shared area with neighbouring cottages and hot tub and a swimming pool. The cottage was very nice for a short stay however few improvements needed. - Provide guides/instructions for the property (we didnât notice there was a freezer at the back of the kitchen counters until the end of our trip) - The heating was not working. It was very cold the first night as we only had one electric heater. After asking the owners we noticed there was a spare fan heater. - The cottage could do with a coffee table by the sofas for when you want to watch TV and eat. - Pathways to the cottage could do with some lights as it gets very dark in the evening and it is a long walk from the entrance of the property. Having to use mobile flash light can be difficult when you have bags to carry. - We were expecting there to be basics like salt/pepper/sugar/milk but none was provided given the price we paid for the stay. However basic kitchenware provided.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the accommodation worked well as we are a family of twelve.
Zoe made us very welcome and added some nice touches with the food hamper and toiletries in the property. The property is as advertised and very characterful, I particularly liked the dining room with its large windows giving a view of the pond. A very peaceful setting and worth a return visit. Tenterden is a pretty town with some nice tea shops. We also enjoyed some good food at the nearby "The Pig and Stye" and "The Chequers on the Green" and both places had excellent staff. A towel rail in the shower room upstairs would have been useful as there were just two hooks for our dressing gowns, and I would have liked to see some instructions for the kitchen appliances in the manual in the kitchen, but these are minor details.

Unbelievable location. Magical, atmospheric, grand and yet welcoming. If you like any music then listening to it whilst relaxing in the nave of a chapel is wonderful. The layout of the holiday home gave us fantastic family dinners in an unforgettable unique space but having the snugs gave us cosy family film viewing too. Everything worked...the two ovens even made cooking a pleasure and the ensuite bathroom was pure luxury. So much to do in the area (walks, pinetum, vineyard, Go Ape, Sissinghurst, Leeds Castle and the best cat cafe in Tonbridge to name a few) and yet we felt remote enough to relax completely. Could not fault the place. Would recommend without hesitation.
