  What an amazing holiday cottage.

  It has everything you could possible need and sheep. The cottage is behind the owners house but this doesn’t impact on your stay at all. As you have your own cottage and are left to enjoy the peace and quiet of the local area. When you do see the owner though she is always kind and caring and happy to chat. The cottage itself was just what you need for a self catering holiday. Well equips kitchen, with all you could need to cook. The added little treats left by the owner just makes it even more special. The living room is comfy and just big enough for what you would need it for there are also doors that lead to a lovely little patio area with seating and a bbq. Don’t worry about the charcoal though. The cottage has that all covered. The bedroom has a lovely bed and the chocolates left went down very well. The dinning room was great and the little table meant we could set up the laptop (you get excellent free Wi-Fi) and was a great space for what we needed the computer for. Finally the bathroom which was clean and tidy and had all the toiletries and towels you could need. Oh, and don’t get me started on the shower. I thought I would never get my husband out of it he loved it so much. Only small downside was for us the tv signal was a little iffy at times (we never asked about it though as we were to busy going out and having fun) but that wasn’t really an issue as it was still watchable it just froze or fuzzed every once in a while and I know if we had of spoken to the owner she would have gone above and beyond to sort it. All in all I would have to say our stay was amazing and I could not recommend this cottage enough. I will definitely be telling all my friends and family about it. Seriously if you want a nice quiet holiday free of hassle with all the wildlife and nature at you fingertips but still close to a beach and a town then look no further this is the holiday cottage got you.   Lovely cottage - the owner said they’d had many holidays there and that was what made a difference I think.

  It felt cosy like a real “home” as soon as you walked in. The decor was not the cheap “make do and mend” that you often find - it was really nicely and tastefully done. The cottage was very well equipped and the owners had anticipated most of the needs of visitors. The welcome pack was very welcome. Thank you. The cottage was lovely and clean, very warm and comfortable. It has traditional features (including a few spooky creaks and groans. We swear we heard a young child say “Daddy” just outside the bedroom door one night….. we hid under the duvet) A couple of “even better if’s”: (1) the dishwasher didn’t work properly and after three washes we had to wash the pots by hand as they were not clean at all (2) maybe leave some washing up liquid and a couple of dishwasher tabs for the next visitors (we left dish cloths). (3) The property is very difficult to find. I couldn’t find it on Google Earth so texted for clarification a few days before we went. I did not get a reply. We couldn’t find it where the post code led us, so we scoured the streets - the locals in the pub hadn’t heard of it either. The contact numbers provided were all the same number and not answered (no signal in the village so had to drive a couple of miles out of the village till I could get a signal). At one point, we even considered having to return home or find a Premier Inn for the night. I don’t know if this will help future visitors but I took the “what three words” reference: ///stylist.recorders.signature Somehow, we did spot the cottage on what was our last attempt. Negatives aside, all in all a lovely visit to a lovely cottage in a beautiful village. Our third stay in Staithes and the best cottage so far. We will be back.

  The cottage, in itself, was everything we expected.

  Very comfortable and ideally situated. We had a few problems with parking - which would have been handy if explained beforehand. Your information seemed to indicate that we could park opposite the sweet shop - which we did, there being no other place to park. As Staithes was extremely busy, we failed to notice that this extension of the 40 mins parking zone was actually a loading only bay. The signage on the road was very faint and the sign further down on the wall minute. Consequently we managed to get landed with a parking fine. We were advised by the parking attendant that a parking disc should be available in our cottage to enable us to park as a 'virtual' resident in the public carpark up the hill. This was not so and we subsequently ended up in the visitor car park which was £10 per day - £70 on top of the holiday cost which we had previously also paid £30 to re-book for July, June not being available to us due to lockdown. It would have been helpful if parking information had been available to us prior to arriving in Staithes. We regularily book cottages through Sykes but feel a bit let down with this one and would welcome your comments.

  It is peaceful relaxing cottage far enough away from the busy Cleethorpes beachfront and nearer the more sedate end of Cleethorpes promenade.

  The owners are very friendly and helpful and even left us a lovely bottle of white wine cooling in the fridge. They have an adorable little cat that just loves being invited in and is very companionable but that is up to you though we can thoroughly recommend her to help chill you out. The area is very seasidey more Blackpool than Brighton but there is so much countryside to explore if you want something more bucolic. It is nice to have a dining room as well as a comfortable lounge and the kitchen is a good size. Unfortunately, we had only been there one day before the Government announced another lockdown so we had to cut our holiday short only three instead of the six days we had planned but they were really nice days. Highly recommended and should we want to visit there area again we would definitely book this cottage.

  This was a lovely central based property in the heart of the village .

  Highly recommend pre booking parking as advertised. We did and this worked out very well as the council car park gets very busy at peak times . We did find the cottage a little difficult to find even with the instructions. Even the locals hadn’t heard of the passage the cottage is located in and there was no signpost? but after eventually finding it , we were very pleased with our choice of accommodation. The cottage is very quirky , clean and well equipped and everything we needed for a great stay . We would happily recommend this property to family and friends. Lots to do locally too . We found fossils , went sea fishing, cycled the cinder trail from Whitby to robin hoods bay , walked to runswick bay , and visited Saltburn on sea and sands end . We love this part of Yorkshire and never fails to deliver .
