What our customers say about their holidays
Ray - Verified booking
The photographs and description were accurate and it was clean and tidy on entry.
The wifi and live TV reception were good and the wifi was easily able to support streaming via the TV apps. The beds were comfortable and the neighbours were quiet. The kitchen was well equipped and there was nothing that was obviously lacking for our self catering needs. The close proximity of one of the car parks and the pub next door was not a problem with noise. The automatic barrier at the entrance to the residence car park was not working during our visit but there was never any difficulty with accessing the dedicated parking spaces. There was one evening (Friday night) when it was a a little noisy at the the pub in the entertainment area on the way to the beach which was hosting a disco evening but it all finished around 10.30 to 11 without disturbing our sleep. The shower over the bath was adequate and there was plenty of hot water but I cannot comment on the heating since it was the height of summer when we visited. The directions and arrival instructions were a little confusing since it depends on which direction you drive along Golf Links Terrace. The instructions for the key box and entry were excellent and unloading was easy because the car was in front of the entrance door. One set of stairs to sleeping area and two sets to the living area. It was located very close to a number of places to drink, eat or take-out food. In addition there were 3 convenience stores within a very short walk ( Tesco, Spar and Londis ) for self catering. There was also a large Tesco across the river on the outskirts of Bideford. There was a magnificent view from the living area of the sea (or the car park and car to the rear). There was easy access to the beach and walks in either direction along the coast. All in all a great property for a short let.

No local information provided by the owner - e.
G places to eat/visit. Or what is right on your doorstep with the foot paths etc. No washing line to dry clothes, no tumble dryer either. Just small clothes horse for 6 people. Switch on hob been turned off in a floor level cupboard but no information left to check this switch if it didnât work. Left us without a hob for a few days until Coast and Cottages told us where to look. Donât think the beds are a king and double size. Felt much smaller and the âdoubleâ wasnât big enough for two adults to comfortably sleep. Also heavy tog duvets on the beds even though start of summer months. The âkingâ made so much noise whenever anyone turned over that it woke people up. Same with the floorboards - made so much noise if anyone moved about it woke others up. Not enough side tables in living room for drinks - if on blue sofa nowhere to place drink within reach. Parking - was a real issue. Seems a free for all! Never any space to actually park in the designated space/s and also people parking very close/blocking people in. Very clean and nicely decorated and the building and gardens around are lovely though.

Directions not very clear.
There are several archways, not just one. Cobwebs on the walls. There was nothing on arrival - no flowers, biscuits, tea etc. It would have been nice to have had something to welcome us other than laminated instructions. Oven did not work well at all, and made a squeaking sound at higher temperatures. Beds were very soft. Not comfortable for us, but this is personal preference. WiFi did not work for the majority of our stay. Not a priority for us, but could be frustrating for a longer break. Recycling instructions were extensive and could be vastly simplified. Bottle bin was full onsite, so we had to take our bottles with us. Upon departure, we had to strip our beds (fine with us), fill out a cleaning form and bag them in orange bags. A bit much when you are paying for a holiday. Close to Kingsbridge and Salcombe, but not the best situated. It is not clear from the website that this is part of a rather large complex which has lovely gardens but tired signage. Communications from Sykes were too detailed. We don't need to be told to bring food!

Wow! What an amazing apartment.
Fabulous location overlooking the sea and steps away from lovely restaurants, cafes and shops. Sitting out on one of the three balconies listening to the sea was just glorious. The Lookout was probably the best apartment we have ever stayed in. It was absolutely spotless and the owners have thought of everything. We didnât cook as there were too many restaurants to try but the kitchen was fully equipped with plenty of everything. Cleaning supplies, dishwasher tablets etc and the milk and biscuits left were much appreciated after arriving late after a very long journey. Beautiful bedding and an abundance of towels. I really canât fault it- it was perfect! Thank you to the lovely owners - great communication and we could tell how much the property is loved and cared for. We really didnât want to leave and canât wait to come back .

We came back to explore the area after cycling the Bay Cycle Way.
The cottage was a perfect location and a bonus that is so stylish & comfortable. Loved the views of the Bay. Lovely quiet lanes with beautiful hedgerows for cycling. Garlic, bluebells & so many wildflowers. Walked from the door to Birkrigg common. 360 degree viwes from the trig point to the Lake District mountains & the lancashire coastline round to Blackpool Tower. Explore the coastline and find the small hidden carparks. Inland villages & lakes. Historic buildings & open churches. Visit Walney Island nature reserve, Piel Island, Gleaston Water mill & walk up to the castle. Canal Foot with itâs views across to the Cartmel peninsular & the railway aquaduct. Do visit the World Peace cafe & buddest temple at Conishead Priory. We plan to go back as there were so many other places to explore. Thank you.
