What our customers say about their holidays

The house is in a great location right on the sea front and close to shops, restaurants and cafes.
It was clean and comfortable with good quality beds, bedding and towels. We especially loved the large open plan kitchen dining area and the sitting room. As a large family group this was perfect for us. The few niggles we had were firstly on the practical domestic front. We preferred to cook most evenings and discovered the cooker seal had come off so we fixed this. We also found that some toilet roll holders had come off, which we couldnât fix. Finally, as mentioned in details about the house, the Nook bar next door has live music from Tuesday to Saturday. We were aware of this when booking though discovered that when it is a live guitarist/band that as this is in the front bar right next to the front of the house it is as loud as though you are actually sitting in the bar because there is no noise reduction. Maybe the owner (if they havenât already) could speak to the Nook about moving this to the back of the bar or adding in some kind of noise reduction. Also, people smoking outside can tend to sit on the front door step and leave cigarette butts and bottles of beer which isnât so nice when leaving the house in the morning! Coming from London where we live opposite a pub we were expecting and prepared for the noise but found these aspects unfortunate as the house is so lovely.

We (three adults plus one corgi) hugely enjoyed our stay ... in spite of the terrible weather. The garden and garden room were a huge plus under the grey skies and occasional downpour. Very well equipped and large kitchen, more than able to cope with adventurous (!?!) cooking. Comfortable chairs and sofas in the sitting/TV room (we didn't use the log burner but good to know that it and logs were there) and, thankfully, firm beds. Good to have off-road parking and reassuring to find the the whole outside was dog-escape-proof. North Creake is a very pleasant village with endless local walks. Also close (by car) to the amazing north Norfolk beaches and marshes (and Holkham Hall)- superb walks even in the moody weather. You do need to plan your shopping a tad - 'normal' shops are a bit thin on the ground in the district and unless you have ready access to a second mortgage, Burnham Market's delis etc can take unfeasibly large bites out of your wallet. Oh ... and a fair number of tradespeople and venues, including the local pub, don't open on Mondays or Tuesdays. We ended our week better disposed to the world than we began it - so that has to be a win.

We had a lovely stay in the house.
9 of us stayed there over Christmas and we had an amazing time. The house is spacious, beautiful, well equipped and clean. Itâs worth noting that logs are not included for the fire but to be honest you do not need it, the house was very warm, so much so we had to open windows as the temperature is controlled by the owners and was too warm for us even after asking them to turn it down. Itâs a short drive to Dartmouth but you canât walk it, thereâs no cross country walks, you will need a car for everything as thereâs nothing around the house other than the amenities listed. This was fine though and didnât detract from the holiday. I saw the scuffs on the walls from previous reviews, these are nothing and just where people carry bags down the stairs, not even worth mentioning. The only downside for us is that the small holding at the bottom of the hill must have lots of dogs that are kept outside and you hear these bark through the night and day. Itâs a shame because other than that it would be perfect. It wouldnât stop us from staying here again though. Itâs a beautiful house and would definitely recommend

My wife and I visited for a week in November having never visited the area before.
The cottage was spotlessly clean, very comfortable for up to four people with plenty of space and seating. It was well-equipped with large smart TV and a well set out kitchen area. Outside is ample, if slightly tight width wise, off road parking, off a very quiet residential road. With the exception of a couple of very minor maintenance issues, which the owners wouldn't have been aware of and which have been quickly rectified, I would find it hard to find any fault with the cottage which was warm and cosy and more than lived up to our expectations. One thing to bear in mind about Torquay is that it is very hilly, that applies to wherever you stay in the town. The previous reviews mention the climb from the harbour area, which though it isn't far in distance, is extremely steep in places, we are both reasonably fit but still found it fairly taxing so worth bearing in mind if mobility is an issue. The advantage of the climb are the lovely views across the bay whilst catching your breath! A fantastic area to explore with stunning coastal walks on the doorstep, a lovely holiday.

The house was lovely and in a lovely location in terms of the beach, nice restaurants, etc.
The property could benefit from some general redecoration in the circulation areas, hallways, stairs, etc as these were quite scuffed, etc. But the house had everything we needed and more! The property description does say that there are bars on the doorstep and that loud music until the early hours would happen... BUT.... early hours meant 4am at the weekends and 1am every night of the week. After the music turns off, the drinking and loud conversation go on for another hour at least!! Then the clean up and maintenance starts at 7am!! Jet washing outside, etc. I think that maybe the property is listed because it is single pane windows so you can hear everything!! On our 1st night the noise stopped around 5pm but we were then woken at 7am with the clean up and then at 10am the door was banging - a cleaner was there to do the 'change over' as he has been sent the wrong information! Not ideal after the rubbish nights sleep. Having said all that, the house was beautiful and I would return but not with children.
