  We have just returned from a week at this fabulous holiday home.

  The garden is exceptional and completely secure - I think the dogs thought their Christmases had come all at once with the amount of space to run around in. It also has multiple seating areas, a BBQ, and the hot tub was an absolute bonus and loved by us humans. Only things to note are you have no back door directly for access into the garden, but this isn't an issue at all as it is a short distance from the door to gate and it is completely secure, and we were unlucky that the mosquitoes were out in force so make use of the repellent in the house. The hosts are on hand if you need them but very respectful and you have complete privacy if you choose. Louise was very kind to agree to allow us into Lincoln one day, leaving the dogs behind for a couple of hours which exceeded our expectations. The living area is cosy and we made good use of the log burner. The Co-op across the road was ideal for last minute bits. We had lovely walks through Rimac Nature Reserve and other local areas. We also must recommend Appleby's for their delicious ice cream. It was a lovely peaceful holiday made perfect by this wonderful cottage.

  We recently stayed with our two dogs, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience.

  The cottage was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, making it feel like a true home away from home. Our host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. They made us feel right at ease from the moment we arrived, and it was clear they genuinely care about their guests' comfort and enjoyment. Our dogs absolutely loved it here. The surrounding area was perfect for walks, with plenty of space for them to explore and enjoy the outdoors. It was good to find a place that was not only dog-friendly but also clearly understood the needs of dog owners. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind and relax. We’ll definitely be returning for another stay. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with their furry friends.

  We had an amazing stay at Tawny Owl cottage.

  Louise is a lovely host and has thought of everything needed for a home from home holiday. We really appreciated the welcome pack for both ourselves and our four legged friends, what a lovely touch. The property is genuinely dog friendly, no signs saying "don't do this" and "not allowed" that, throws were provided for the sofas and their comfort etc. The cottage is super comfortable and the garden and hot tub fabulous. We enjoyed a fair few hours out there with the pooches, enjoying a tipple at the tiki bar and a soak in the HUGE hot tub. The cottage is in a lovely area with lots to explore nearby. There's a pub within a 2 minute walk and a CO-OP across the road - very convenient if you fancy a cosy day in. All in all, couldn't fault it and can't wait to return which we definitely will.   We had a lovely stay at 1 Barn Cottages despite having to leave early due to a death in the family.

  It is well set up for even the smallest of dogs and that was a huge relief to us - our dogs will always find the weak point in a fence or hedge and there just wasn’t one. The owner’s dogs were a worry but she kept them away and generally out of “our” paddock - except for when they came to visit the folk staying next door. The secure patio area was very helpful. We found all the furnishings and fittings to be of the highest quality and were very comfortable indeed. We loved the remote control shower! Probably the only issue for us was noise from next door - it carries very easily and stopped our dogs from settling, which in turn kept us from fully relaxing. We would go again but would hope that the adjacent property was empty - if you are booking both together then you will have a wonderful time with zero issues!

  Absolutely shocking behaviour by the owners.

  Due to a family health issue and my 73rd birthday on the first Saturday our daughter called to see us as she lives in Lincoln. She was upset about her father in law so we asked her to stay overnight. We never saw the owner before that but we then got a call from Sykes on the Sunday morning to say we had to leave the property immediately!!! They didn’t even come to speak to us for an explanation. Her home was attached to the property and she never even called to introduce herself or ask if everything was ok when we arrived. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone who is expecting a warm welcome from the owners especially considering she was there on site. We paid £800 for what amounted to a weekend away with no offer of any refund.
