What our customers say about their holidays

Superb property in great location with places like Padstow, Port Isaac, Newquay etc on your doorstep. Hosts really have thought of everything from providing luxury bedding, bath sheets and plenty of extra towels to all cleaning products, toiletries including bath/shower gel/shampoo/hair dryers/iron (things I always think about when going away) Superb countryside scenery with livestock all around. Cannot believe how close we were to the motorway as no noise experienced, very peaceful and tranquil. Hosts really have gone over and above to make this a fantastIc stay. Even small touches like an emergency pack for little essentials you may have forgotten to pack. The hot tub was great, took a while to heat and if using regularly as we did, you will need to get plenty of firewood in. Well equipped kitchen and loved the two seperate lounge areas where lots of extras were provided including indoor/outdoor toys and games, cookery/reading books, instruction manuals for the property. Well equipped garden with plenty of seating and climbing frame for children. Have recommended a swing/slide for under 3’s would be a great addition. BBQ and ice bath great additions too! High chair, travel cot and baby gates also provided. Good choice of supermarkets to choose from in local area. All our guests (7 in total) were impressed with the set up of this property and quality of everything. We said the only thing missing is that there are no local pubs within walking distance if you didn’t want to drive but really wasn’t an issue, just something we are used to at home. This really was a home from home experience and we cannot recommend highly enough and will definitely be visiting again.

Great sized house, especially for multiple families/generations, plenty of space for kids to run around and for everyone to get their own quiet space when needed. The house is pretty dated and in need of some upgrades, the oven didn't work but Tony responded quickly and brought a spare one to us from their tea shop, however it was incredibly dirty inside so we chose not to make food at the house, which added a fair expense eating out every day! The kitchen felt quite grubby and the oven trays in the drawer were greasy. The seat pads at the dining table are covered in stains, as are the white leather sofas and one of the cushions is really worn away. There were some wall stains (possible damp) behind the tv in the dark living room. On a plus side the bedrooms were clean and the bedding was lovely and clean and comfortable, there is a lot of parking which is rare and good outdoor space. It could be an incredible place, it just needs a bit of money spending on it!

Tony’s house was perfect for our family to all have our own space but also be in the same room but not overcrowded. We even lost our one year old at one point as she loved exploring the house 😂 There was more than enough room for all three cars and the garden is absolutely beautiful! Our children and dog had the times of there lives running around. The house is also really interesting and has many things to look at. Lots of the house is really traditional and we really enjoyed the homely feel. We had such a lovely time all together enjoying the house but we also loved the village. The village is picturesque and having Tony’s shop and tea room a stones throw away made the weekend even better. The village had such a lovely feel and we will definitely be coming back again for a longer visit! We met Tony and he was extremely welcoming. We would highly recommend staying here.

The house is beautiful and Tony is a wonderful man, he was easy to contact, if we needed anything. I took my five grandchildren with my son and his mother in law, the house is so big that sometimes it took some times to track down the grandchildren. The village has a wonderful shop where you can buy.... The house is beautiful and Tony is a wonderful man, he was easy to contact, if we needed anything. I took my five grandchildren with my son and his mother in law, the house is so big that sometimes it took some times to track down the grandchildren. The village has a wonderful shop where you can buy anything you need for a great meal whilst on holiday, three of my grandchildren are vegetarian and Tony ordered Quorn nuggets, which they loved. The tearoom is wonderful a great cream tea and a good selection of ice creams. I highly recommend the beautiful house, we had a wonderful holiday with memories that my grandchildren will treasure for ever according to my granddaughter. Lastly we must not forget Harvey the dog down the Lane, who my grandson became good friends with and his owner. All the people welcomed us and treated us with respect, even when my grandchildren became a bit rowdy. We all had a great holiday and are already planning on booking the house.

We stayed in 2022 but just found out we could review.
This is a lovely cottage but it is described as having an enclosed garden. What it doesn't say is that it is shared access so neighbours walk through the garden to access their property, making it an unsecured space for children or dogs to be in even for a second without close supervision. You would have to go out in the garden first before letting out a child or dog in case the gate is left open. Whilst our dog would never be unsupervised I would normally go out with her at the same time, not have to check the garden is secure before going out. Also to keep watch in case the neighbours came through the gate. The garden was a very small dungeon like space and not really pleasant and our dog had no space to be safely off lead at all for the week. There are issues with parking as the shared access neighbour parks across both spaces. Also there is an old peoples' home across the road so visitors park all up the road. We found it difficult to park in the road on a few occasions. However, it's a beautiful character cottage and the Smart TV was a bonus. The location is fabulous providing access to all the places we wanted to see. Nice touches were providing paw towels and dog bowls for canine guests.
