What our customers say about their holidays
Sarah - Verified booking
We have just come home from a wonderful family holiday in the Stable.
We chose the Stable because of the fenced in garden for our twin toddler boys and our 2 dogs, we also loved the sound of the hot tub. It was perfect for us all. The garden was great, the boys loved riding their bikes up and down the slope, it was very safe and secure for our boys and dogs to have freedom to run and play. Inside the house was very tidy, it had everything we needed to make home cooked meals, comfortable beds, a lovely big bath and powerful shower. Other facilities⦠Our boys are too young for the games room, however, it looked like fun for if we come back for future holidays, the washing machine and tumble dryer were a massive bonus, we came home with no washing to do, âHappy Mummy!â The boys loved the climbing frame and slide, it was perfect for them. The cottage is set in beautiful surroundings, after putting the boys to bed, my husband and I enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub with stunning views of rolling Welsh hills. We made friends with the cows in the field outside, the boys loved running out to see them every morning, and watching them from the window as we ate. The owners of the cottage were very warm and welcoming, they had lots of information for great places to take the children. We loved Aberporth beach, there is 2 beaches in Aberporth, one which is dog friendly. New Quay was also beautiful, we enjoyed walking along the harbour, seeing all the boats, and enjoying a delicious ice cream. We loved the Moody Cow, with a brilliant indoor and outdoor play area for the children to burn off some steam, and a delicious farm shop. There was also a lovely looking restaurant, but we didnât have a chance to try it out. We had a fun afternoon in Borth. A beautiful little seaside town. We enjoyed fish and chips in the Sands cafe, then walked a 15 minute walk to a small place to enjoy feeding goats, seeing rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, pigs, tortoises and many more animals, with 2 fun climbing frames our boys loved! It was a really fun afternoon. The area is very quiet, safe and idyllic. We were sad our holiday has come to an end, could have happily stayed another week, we have come home and already looking at dates to rebook in the future.

We had a lovely stay at the stable and a fantastic week in wales.
The owners were really friendly and made us very welcome. The pros -The location is stunning. The views from your hot tub and garden are just beautiful. Rolling hills and cows coming right up to the garden fence. There are lovely walks right from the doorstep - The owners invited us to watch the cows being milked and meet their newborn calves. The children loved this and the owners spent lots of time with us and made it a great experience. -the hot tub is a fab addition. It was clean and the owners checked the water every morning. Views from hot tub are awesome. -the shared playground was great for our children. Very safe and they loved it. - our umbrella broke and they got us a new one straight away. We also expected a gas bbq but it was a coal one. They swapped it for us straight away! A few little improvements -Check in 3pm. We arrived at 4pm but was told cottage would not be ready until 5pm due to extra cleaning. Totally understand this but 5pm is too late and Sykes should have contacted us to make us aware. - the living room and kitchen is on first floor and it was difficult keeping our toddler away from the stairs. We put the sofa in front of it but a stair gate would have been a big help. -one of the lights in the kitchen was broken and there was another little light wired up strangely. Assuming their is an electrical issue with the light. It was a little dark in there so a big lamp is needed. -the games room isnât great. Itâs very old and needs a revamp. With a little work it could be a great addition. Overall would definitely recommend!!

We had a wonderful stay at Y Bwthyn.
The property has been cleverly renovated and has almost all it needs for a very comfortable stay. The garden is perfect and made our stay! We enjoyed lovely evenings sat outside with our dogs, and everything has been thought of in terms of outdoor comfort. In the cottage, there are a few things that would be helpful (e.g a hand towel upstairs and downstairs, a place to hang coats) but more importantly, I feel the owners and Sykes need to provide more information to potential visitors on the spiral staircase in the property. Living in a home with a spiral staircase, we thought it would be fine but it is a very narrow, steep spiral staircase which takes time and care to navigate. Not necessarily an issue, but it needs to be made clear so that future visitors can decide for themselves if it will pose them an issue. The area is gorgeous and as locals ourselves, weâd recommend the Mawddach trail, the Torrent Walk Hotel in Dolgellau and the George for drinks and food!

Lovely cottage in a rural location.
Stunning views out on to the Welsh countryside. The road to the cottage was very bumpy, so not suitable if you have a lowered vehicle. But itâs worth it for the remote location. That said you are only 10mins drive into the beautiful Aberaeron. Cottage was well equipped with full kitchen. Floors & stairs were a little creaky but only as youâd expect from a cottage. The owners live on site and weâre very friendly when we bumped into them. The hotub was easy to use and situated perfectly to allow you to take in the views. If you are visiting in the colder months, donât worry about being cold as the heating system was amazing, with rooms heating up almost instantly! The shower was very powerful and lovely & hot. The garden was fully enclosed so perfect for our dog. If you like craft beer make sure you check out Y Bryn - a brewery pub about 20mins drive from the cottage. Well worth the trip.

We are just back from The Stable and very happy with our little holiday.
I booked the stable for 4 nights for myself my husband and two friends for a belated birthday celebration. There was plenty of parking, and the stable was warm and cosy. The garden is completely secure so our two dogs could play and zoomie to their hearts content. Beautiful scenery of rolling countryside which you can access from your back garden. We walked through the farm straight into a national trust walk with Cafe. We carried on and walked around Aberaeron and back which was seven miles round trip. The dogs slept for hours while we played table tennis and pool in the games room then enjoyed an hour in the hot tub. Perfect location and perfect hosting by Katy who is an absolute diamond. She is the one who makes your stay go smoothly with the help of Jamie who can fix and find anything. Great place to stay
