  The Oakleys was great.

  Would definitely stay there again. Ramona was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. I have sensitivity to perfumes and cleaning products and she did everything to accommodate this. She reassured me by phone before arrival about the product situation at the accommodation. Although there is no way of totally avoiding all this stuff (such as residue from washing powder on the beds and soft furnishings - this stuff really clings!) it was as good as I was going to get anywhere. More places should adopt her eco-friendly approach. I was so pleased to have found this place as several others I had contacted used a cocktail of toxic products. It was great there was no washing machine too, so no previous occupants using washing powder. Though we overran our departure time (although we had been up since 7am packing up!), this was not a problem for her when she arrived. Thank you Ramona.

  We found the accommodation exactly as described and what we had hoped for.

  We were very comfortable and it was in such a good location for bird watching, steam trains and restaurants and pubs. Our only issue was with the request to strip the beds. We have stayed in many self catering cottages over the years and always aim to leave them as we found them. As this involves the beds being made up we do not feel we should be part of the changeover process. We have assumed the price we have been charged would cover preparing the accommodation for the next customers. Overall this appears to be a request which is for the convenience of the cleaner rather than the valued customer! As it takes very little time to strip beds but doing so spoils my holiday we politely suggest it is done by the providers. (full letter sent to Sykes separately.)

  We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful apartment.

  It was very clean, well equipped and the under floor heating was wonderful, at this time of year! (Feb '23). Everything was of excellent quality with attention to detail. From fluffy white towels, lovely bed linen, welcome basket (inc chocolate, Welsch cakes, milk, tea & coffees). Sorry to say, there are a couple of negatives. We arrived at night and struggled to find the flat as it was dark (maybe a sign in the lit under pass, where the gates are, would help? We eventually found it, but walking on pebbles to get to the flat, was cumbersome with luggage and noisy. We felt there was lack of privacy in the evening, when the lights were on, due to only voiles at the balcony door & kitchen windows. Other than that, fabulous!

  Do not hesitate to book this immaculate property.

  From the moment you step through the door, the apartment is warm, cosy and inviting. Furnished in light, airy colours. Welcome pack for hot drinks, milk and Welsh sweet treats was unexpected but very much appreciated after a long drive. Spotlessly clean with everything that we wanted for a short family break in November for 3 generations. Super views across the harbour, next door to the Maritime Museum, opposite the Heritage Railway - what more is there to say? A couple of minutes from the coastal path to Borth y Gest and onwards to Morfa Bychan and Criccieth. 5 minutes drive to Tesco for shopping needs. Well equipped kitchen and parking for 2 cars. A much needed and relaxing, stress -free break. Thank you.

  Comfortable and well appointed.

  Great location and nice harbour view. Welcome basket a nice touch and appreciated. Wife suggests lowering the mirror in the double room as, when seated at the dressing table, it was too high. Biggest issue was the size of the fridge & freezer box. We were a group of three adults and a four year old boy who were on a self catering holiday but had to visit the supermarkets regularly as there was insufficient chilled / frozen storage space. There’s definitely room in the kitchen to have a decent sized fridge / freezer which would allow more holiday - and less shopping - time. However, overall, Harbour View was a lovely place to stay and we would certainly recommend it to anyone travelling to Porthmadog.
