  We had a lovely stay at Smithy House.

  We were a multi generational family group with a dog. The cottage was cosy, warm and friendly. A great parlour kitchen for family meals and a cosy lounge for playing board games during the evening. The bedrooms were lovely and the beds were really comfortable. The boys enjoyed having the top floor to themselves :) The cottage is located close to the historical Kilmartin and we enjoyed walking to the stones and Cairns, then on to Kilmartin for a delicious pub lunch at the local Kilmartin Hotel. The cottage has easy access to many other activities and we were out every day, visiting Oban, Isle of Arran, Tarbert Castle, Avich Waterfalls and much more. It was easy to pop out to top up food supplies with Lochgilphead only 12 minutes away, having a petrol garage, Spar and a well stocked Co-op. So in summary we had a great holiday and would definitely recommend the place.

  The beds were phenomenal!

  The kitchen was extremely well equipped, as was the property with books and games etc. The facility to watch Netflix on the TV was also really handy. If I'm honest, the only thing that let the house down was the bathroom. The toilet seat issue (which I noted from the "issues notebook" has been around since 2019!) was irritating (especially as the downstairs toilet was out of action for our stay), however my main issue was the shower. For a property where luxury and comfort is obviously a priority everywhere else, the shower (and bathroom in general) really let it down. If it helps, I would have happily paid more for the property if the bathroom was the same standard as the rest of the house. Ooh, and while the stuff provided for our dog was terrific, it would have been even more so if we had known about it in advance so that we didn't also bring all of our own stuff!

  Fabulous cottage with the comfiest beds ever!

  Smithy House was just perfect for a relaxing Christmas break away for our two families and dogs. Spotlessly clean, spacious but cosy, and beautifully furnished by friendly and helpful hosts - nothing was too much trouble. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of space to cook amd serve a full Christmas dinner at the large table. Kilmartin Glen is just magical, there's plenty to explore close by and the surrounding area is simply stunning, no matter what the weather throws at you! This is the third time we've stayed in the Loch Craignish area over Christmas and there's something about both the journey there and the spectacular scenery that makes Christmas that much more Christmassy. Love it, can highly recommend!

  Pier Cottage is well equipped, warm, comfortable and the views exceptional, truly a gem.

  .a peaceful retreat, the neighbours were lovely and welcoming. We loved the siskins, goldfinch, seals and squirrels. The Botanic Gardens are worth a visit as is the Kilmun church and graves. Lovely coffee and home baking at the Gallery and picked up a few gems in the Glory Hole charity shop. WiFi excellent which was a strong requirement for my teenage son. The Pier just across the road is just idyllic, my son was learning to fish and the seal stole it which he just loved and didn't grudge it at all. No hesitation in recommending this property and location ....it is how life should be. Thank you for the welcome pack. We were 4 adults and one child and one husky. I would go back in a heartbeat x

  Smithy cottage was everything we were looking for in a holiday house.

  It was spotlessly clean and very well stocked. The owner was very much involved in our stay, which was very refreshing. Too often holiday houses are impersonal and minimally stocked. Not so with this cottage. We met both Jacinta and Iain as they live locally. They were prompt with answering queries. They were full of advice for things to do in the area. The description is clear that the nearest supermarket is some distance so we menu planned and shopped before we arrived. We love walking and spent many happy hours walking in the area. This area is just beautiful and historically important. Plan for all weathers and you will love the nature, culture and wildlife in this area.
