Very comfortable cottage in very peaceful situation - well separated from owner's house in total privacy and owners were very friendly and helpful. There is a lovely riverside walk away from the road from the cottage right into centre of Kirkcudbright - approx. two and a half miles away. Fairly central for visiting other places - we particularly enjoyed Kippford and walk from there into Rockcliffe. For wildlife lovers there were sightings of deer and a variety of birds on birdfeeders - numerous rabbits etc.

Fourth time here and already booked for later in the year. Owners are just lovely. Very friendly and helpful. We feel they have become friends. The position of the cottage, is perfect for us. Close enough for a short drive or a reasonable, picturesque walk into town but far enough away for peace and solitude. We love the area and the cottage. Great for dogs because of the enclosed garden and closeness to the path for the riverside walk into Kirkcudbright. There are several sandy beaches close by.

A spacious cottage with a delightful garden and river walks from the door. Perfect for my elderly dog and for me too! Kirkcudbright is a friendly and colourful town with plenty to see; and the surrounding countryside stunning and varied from coastal to mountain scenery. I've stayed here twice in the past few months and there are still loads of places I haven't seen. A great excuse to return!

Cottage was perfectly located for Kirkcudbright amenities and other attractions. It was also very well -equipped. Lovely big garden, ideal for the dog. We loved not having Wi-fi but felt that the house needed a bit of tlc as it was rather dated. That would probably push prices up beyond our budget though! The mattresses were quite uncomfortable, but everything else comfy and cosy

This was our 2nd visit to Glenauld cottage and it was just as good as we remembered from last year, with the extra bonus of biscuits and cake! The cottage has everything we need, including a nice big enclosed garden for our active golden retriever, and is in easy reach of lots of nice walks, forests, beaches etc. I'm sure we will be back for another visit soon
