What our customers say about their holidays

We started with an issue - no key in the lock box, so we had to call the owner who then had to call the cleaner who then took 15 mins to come to us.
Great location to visit this lovely area. Cottage is immaculately presented and offers nearly everything you need. Beds âï¸ Showersâï¸ Internal space âï¸ Loft rooms âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ (big hit with my 5 year old) Location âï¸ Cooking cleaning facilities âï¸ 2 pubs in the village 1 doesn't open till 5pm. Both are quite expensive for food and similarly prices. The golden fleece was newly refurbished and offered a large selection of drinks but we preferred the typical old world pub, The union inn as the atmosphere was relaxed and really friendly. Only 2 things let this property down - The free for all parking outside is shambolic. The neighbours on both sides have 2 cars each which should normally leave enough space for 1 car but the business opposite insisted on parking their van right outside the front door, whichever we had to park down the street for 4 out of 5 days - I spoke to the guys in the business and they just laughed. The rear room and outside space - once the door is open, the room stinks of damp and is full of spiders. My daughters would not go through to the 'yard' and even my dog needed bribing. The outside space is not suitable to even sit in as the lower part is that covered it feels like a cave and getting to the upper part is dangerous (if any rain or moisture in the air) - I made it up but no one else fancied tackling the steep and loose rock steps. If it weren't to the 2 above points, it would be near perfect. We visited most of the towns along the coast spanning 100 miles and we could've seen more if we had more time. The copper mines at Sygun where great and the walks close by meant it was a full day Our favourite place was Beddgelert. Great walks, Super handmade gift shops. Lovely river. Scenic walks and a fantastic pub (Prince Lewellyn) - could not recommend this village highly enough.

Positives about this property.
Itâs has been decorated beautifully and you can tell a lot of care and thought has gone into it, beds were comfy and it was super clean, lots of lovely touches around the house. The locations great to get around to other close towns nearby. Now unfortunately onto the negatives - The attic bedroom has no windows and it was absolutely roasting hot and totally unbearable to sleep in as the weather was so good, so my son had to sleep on the floor in our bedroom. I text the number for the owner asking if there was a fan also asked if there was an iron and ironing board as I could not find one anywhere but unfortunately did not get a response. PARKING is first come first served, if you do manage to park near the house the minute you move your space is taken so trying to park when you come back from a day out isnât fun! We had a morning raid from the man who owns the shop over the road because the friends we went with had nowhere to park but on the pavement outside his shop. He scared the living daylights out of our kids as he was banging on the door that loud and shouting up at the windows at 7.50am. Totally uncalled for as we would have moved the car without issue, didnât need the abuse at all. So I think there needs to be a note put in the house to let holiday makers know not to park near his shop as apparently it happens all the time. The âgarden,â(no grass) I would say more of a small yard and when you climb the very steep steps to get to the terrace its a disappointment as it has no seating at all so the âGardenâ was for us a disappointment considering how much thought has gone into the inside of the house, the outside let it down.

We loved this dog friendly house, the holiday begins with an explore of the listed building and tiered garden (steep steps up as stated in description) with wonderful views.
All the modern facilities you would expect, but in a house that beautifully reflects its past in its style and furnishings. There were some welcome gifts on our arrival and provision for milk tea and coffee .The wifi works well and the owner provides a range of streaming services including Disney. The kitchen has a wonderful slate floor and a family sized table complete with all mod cons including a double Ninja air fryer. Two bathrooms, one upstairs, traditional with a bath (separate toilet) and a modern downstairs shower room with toilet. In the kitchen, the owner has put together a purple information book about the house, area and kitchen utilities. Though the house is set on a hillside, heading left and down, steps down mean that you can be in the Porthmadog Harbour area in less than 5 minutes, or heading right and up the road from the house you can soon access the Welsh Coastal Path with walks to sandy beaches. Porthmadog is a great base for the Snowdonia National Park, heritage railway (less than 10 minutes walk), North Wales coast, including Anglesey and Conwy. I also recommend a visit to the Amber Falls whiskey distillery and the spectacular Amber Falls waterfall. I think this review indicates we would definitely like to return to Wenallt in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay in the perfect location with stunning views!
The harbour with a variety of places to eat is a short walk away down some steep steps. However, there is an alternative route along the road which is less steep for those less mobile. Parking out front was easy for two cars, although the parking is not allocated and this might be more of an issue in peak season. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable and was lovely and warm when we arrived on a cold day. It felt very homely. The kitchen is very well-equipped with all needs anticipated with the variety of equipment supplied. We made use of both the kitchen log burner and living room open fire and really appreciated that these were ready to go and well-supplied with firelighters, kindling and logs. The bedrooms were all a good size and the beds super comfortable and we loved the very good shower downstairs. Overall, we were very impressed by the cottage and had a lovely stay. We also appreciated the more relaxed approach by the owner when we didn't arrive to find a lengthy set of rules to abide by which can sometimes be the case... Instead, we arrived to a thoughtful bottle of wine and chocolates, bread and milk in the fridge and a friendly note welcoming us and providing the owner's details in case of any issues which we happily didn't have need of :-)

Our second visit to Wenallt and we definitely hope to visit again.
It is a truly delightful house with everything we could possibly have wanted. Beautifully furnished with extremely comfortable beds and a huge kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and every kind of kitchen gadget and appliance and with a large table for family meals. There is a large, comfortable and cosy living room and a very impressive dining room and so many interesting books in every room. All the rooms at the front have fantastic views over Porthmadog harbour and to the mountains beyond - we could never tire of the wonderful view. There is a beautiful garden at the back with several levels where you can sit and relax, again with extensive views. The house was extremely clean and welcoming on our arrival and having bread and milk provided, as well as a bottle of wine and other treats, was very useful after a long journey. The owner has done so much to make guests feel welcome and make sure everything you could possibly need for a thoroughly enjoyable holiday is provided. Parking outside the house was easy and it is a short walk to Porthmadog Harbour and High Street. Our family had a wonderful holiday there and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
