  Our booked six night stay consisted of one night before we gave the keys back and found somewhere else to stay.

  In 25 years of renting holiday cottages, this was by far the worst. Spartan, poorly equipped, no room whatsoever, no storage space and what we believed to be us having the run of a large garden (as the photos depicted) for our two spaniels, we had a 12 x 12ft patch of grass. The tv is at a 45 degree angle to the settee, so you had to crane your neck to watch it. No net curtains so no privacy. A kitchen without a cooker, draining board or washing machine, the latter essential for a cottage that's supposedly dog friendly. As for the front door..... We were told NOT to turn the car around using the property opposite's drive which necessitated reversing down the narrow lane to get out, no mention of this when we booked. Presumably the cottage owners and the neighbour don't get on? The directions to the place weren't even accurate. If this place WAS converted from a barn, I can only assume that the barn was more comfortable. When we departed on the Sunday morning, the owners weren't in, so I texted them to say we'd left the place and to let them know where we'd left the key. Several hours later they replied to say, "oh dear, thanks for letting us know, we hope you find something more suited to your needs". No apology, no " what could we have done to make your stay better?", essentially, " thanks for your £400, 'bye". I just can't believe the glowing reviews for this place, people must have very low expectations. We will NEVER book through you again, a complete and utter disappointment.   Stunning, comfortable cottage.

  Loved it. So well-equipped and delightfully furnished and decorated. Wanted for nothing. Location great, we could walk to Newlyn town centre, supermarkets, pubs, Penzance and Mouseholes and there was a bus stop at the bottom of the hill. Walter is halfway up an incline but as we are very fit seniors, it was not a problem for us but for those with limited mobility, it could be. The only other downside was parking. There is a public carpark about 200 metres away and we bought a weekly parking permit. But if we went out in the car, we had to time our arrival home very carefully otherwise, we would not get a parking space. It was full all day and after 4.00 pm when it was free parking, it was almost impossible to get an overnight parking bay. A designated parking bay for the cottage would be helpful. Otherwise, our stay at Walter was amazing and we would definitely recommend to others and would stay there again if ever we come back to UK again. Many thanks for sharing your lovely cottage with us.   We had a fabulous time at Treverbyn Smithy, just what we needed.

  The cottage itself was super cosy and, although we didn't get to meet Mike, he was incredibly helpful having left us lots of information on notes with tips and recommendations too. The kitchen was well stocked with all utensils you could possibly need and Mike had got the woodburner prepared for us so all we needed to do was light it on arrival. It was ideally located in that it felt really out of the way but it was easy to access all kinds of walks and the nearby village of St Neot is a delight. Would recommend doing the Two Valleys Walk (as long as you are brave enough to walk through cow fields) and a walk up Rough Tor is not to be missed - it certainly blew the cobwebs off! Golitha Falls and Minions were also great. Our dog definitely enjoyed the vast amount of walks available! All in all we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend to anyone who'd listen!

  The Smithy is a stunning property in beautiful surroundings.

  Michael met us and showed us around and told us of the history of the buildings. The Smithy was cleaned to a very high standard and has everything that you could wish for as far as equipment. There is a games room that would put many a pub to shame and there’s bikes and barbecues and a lovely field/garden to relax in. The wood burner was great and made for cozy evenings after a day’s travelling around the stunning countryside and beautiful villages. Looe, Polperro, Fowey and Mevagissey are within easy reach and Bodmin Moor is on the doorstep. The Golitha Falls are a must-see and are within walking distance.   Little Orchard Barn was a vey lucky find and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

  It is one of the two best cottages we have stayed in. We received a very warm welcome along with some tasty treats. The cottage is comfortable, very well equipped and thoughtful touches make it feel very homely. Please don’t be put off by previous negative comments regarding narrow lane to access the property. It is a very short distance which we managed very well in our Honda CRV, which is not a small car and with due care we were able to drive in, turn round and drive out again with confidence. There is a lot to do in the surrounding area and the shops are close by. Do come and stay at Little Orchard Barn you won’t be disappointed. Many thanks to the owners
