What our customers say about their holidays

Absolutely beautiful location, view stunning from lodge, couldn't ask for more.
The site was lovely with lots of walk ways with the dogs. The lodge was good at first glance, with all mod cons and very well equipped, which was great. Quite cramped in the bedrooms, with not really enough storage space for luggage. We were able to use the other bedroom to put our cases as there was nowhere to have them in the main bedroom. Be aware, the bunk bed in the other bedroom is really high! So for older kids it would be ok, very cramped again but all beds comfortable with good pillows and covers. Lots of towels which was really good for each bed. Lounge/ eating area, had an enormous television with lots of channels which leads you to believe that you might want to get comfy of an evening to watch a good film; but to no avail I'm afraid. The seating area which reminded me of the seating in a Doctors surgery waiting area, was the most uncomfortablest we have ever sat on! We were only able to seat on it for a short while before our backsides had gone completely numb! So consequently, we were unable to enjoy watching the TV at any length. Perhaps some reorganisation and new furniture would be a boon for this area? We found the shower really roomy and a real strong powerful shower, so was very good. It did fill up your the brim with suds every time we had a shower, and we were worried it might overflow, luckily not though! Needed a good plug clear out which obviously had not been done for a while. Kitchen was really well equipped which was great! Had a bit of trouble working out the electric hob, but managed in the end. On a serious note, be very aware of the step down into the kitchen. I had a situation where I tripped up while exiting the kitchen and flew across the lounge area! I really winded my self and was a bit bruised. Other then that, everything was fine, outside area lovely, nice area for the doggie, lovely hot tub and BBQ. Upstairs seating area with a great view but we couldn't use it as our dogs could not use the stairs safely (quite steep).

This little woodland pod is AMAZING.
Even though you can see the other pods each one has its own space and it feels nice and secluded. The pictures do not do the pod justice especially on how spacious the pod actually is. The kitchen is behind sliding patio doors but the back is open to the elements so it's not as warm in that section as you might expect but the facilities are great. Oven, hob, microwave, fridge and sink. The bin had a bin bag in and they provide a miniature washing up liquid, second bin bag and washing up cloths too as well as tea towels. Bedroom/lounge is lovely and warm, the beds are very comfortable and the duvets were nice and thick. It is so quiet and peaceful, bar the odd pheasant squark and so we slept like a logs. The hot tub is clean and spacious. I didn't think we would get the hot tub to heat up enough given the other review, however we lit it as soon as we arrived at 5pm and by 930pm it was too hot to get into! So providing you keep on top of the fire, getting into your hot tub on the first night is definitely achievable, just be careful to not over heat it pile we did. Over a two night stay we went through 5.5 bags of logs and 2 bags of kindling which was used for the hot tub and the fire pitt. We had brought logs with us but ran out after using the free bag that comes with the price of the cabin. So the next day we went to Corwen and found a DIY shop to buy some more. We paid £13 for 3 bags of logs and a bag of kindling so this is cheaper than buying more from the cabin. Beautiful setting and lots of walks. Doggy wash on site is a huge plus too. My puppy didn't want to leave he loved it so much, as did we. Will definitely be returning.

The lodge was so nice, and views were just breathtaking!
We loved everything about our little break. We got the hang of the fire pit easily! Just make sure you follow the instructions in the book and you wonât go wrong. We went to a Texaco petrol station nearby and they had bags of logs and kindling for £4.50 which was useful to know! The property was gated so our dog could have the run of outside and didnât get out. Notes for consideration if youâre staying: - I would say make sure you bring an additional tea towel and bin bags if youâre staying for more than 2 nights. We stayed for 4 nights and got 1 tea towel and 1 bin bag. Maybe if you messaged staff you might get more but we didnât bother and bought our own to make do! - The couch isnât comfortable so again, if youâre intending on spending time in the lodge Iâd suggest taking your own pillows or beanbags to make it a bit comfortable. - We stayed 4 nights and did have enough bath towels, however we used them off the spare bed too. So just make sure if youâre going as a family and for more than 2 nights, maybe consider taking additional towel each - The drive up to the lodge was quite narrow and not really for the weak if you arenât a confident driver! Iâd just say bear that in mind before booking - we were fine but I know some might not be. They arenât negative points as such, just things we would consider next time. However would go back in a heart beat. Really nice lodge and gave us the break we were looking for!

Overall disappointed however hot tub and pod location/scenery were excellent.
2 days before arrival, had to come out of work to be on the phone for over 30 minutes to request hot tub to be lit on arrival (as instructed to do on booking information) - this was not done before we arrived. Therefore took hours to heat up. Was also really Disappointed with what is provided for the cost. Had to go out and buy all cleaning products to clean dishes and general tidying etc whilst we were there. Considering there were 4 girls staying there, we were only provided 2 toilet rolls for the entire stay; one small bar of opened soap on sink (unhygienic); 3 extremely miniature shampoo/shower gel bottles provided and nothing else whatsoever. Kitchen area was full of flies which is understandable and it is semi open however obvious that there hadnât even been an attempt to remove them before we arrived as there were lots of dead ones too; lamp shade in the kitchen area were absolutely filthy full of webs, dust etc; really off putting and didnât want to put any of our food on the side. Outdoor area was clean - enjoyed the scenic views and the hot tub. For the money paid, think there should be nicer touches and basic cleaning equipment provided - or if not - should clearly be stated with booking information.

We had such a lovely time at the lodge and will probably be back at some point in the future.
A couple of things that we absolutely loved about the lodge was the cleanliness and appearance as this is really important to us especially as our baby travels with us. The pictures absolutely do it justice especially on a clear day, the view is mind blowing, and the privacy is amazing. A couple of things that we would take note of is that we arrived in the snow and very cold weather, we got stuck a couple of times coming up the very long hill and I wish this was maybe mentioned in the description of the directions as had we been in a smaller non 4 wheel drive car I donât think we would have made it to the top and potentially crashed the car. Another thing that we struggled with (although you do state this) the kitchen area is very very cold and this was an issue when we needed to pass through or nip into the kitchen it immediately took all the heat from the main pod. I can see that this isnât an issue in the warmer months however it was a downfall for our stay. All in all we absolutely loved the lodge, the hot tub, the staff, the area as a whole. We had such a lovely time.
