Log Cabins & Lodges in Wales

What Wales lacks in size it certainly makes up for in sheer natural beauty, with amazing National Parks, thousands of miles of coastline, rolling hills and charming towns and villages. And what better way to enjoy this picturesque part of the UK than in your very own log cabin? There are lots of great log cabin holidays in Wales available, from cosy, rustic properties complete with wood burners and plenty of charm to larger, spacious and luxury lodges that are ideal for group ventures or big family trips.

Enjoy a slower pace of life, and a memorable family holiday or romantic getaway in some of Wales's most beautiful lodges and charming properties. If you're looking for something authentic with lots of space, modern amenities, and excellent locations, there are lots of log cabins in Wales, some located close to the breathtaking natural landscapes like the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia National Park and others near to the charming coastal village of Colwyn Bay and the historic town of Tenby.

Cross the border into the Wales and you're immediately struck by the beauty of the valleys and peaks, the romantic charm of its villages and towns and the friendliness and openness of the locals. You're looking for adventures out in the country, there are three National Parks - Snowdonia, the Pembrokeshire Coast, and the Brecon Beacons – each offering something unique and many miles of cycle paths and hiking trails. And where better to relax afterwards than one of our lodges in Wales?

For less intrepid types, the charm and tranquillity of villages like Colwyn Bay and Llandudno are definitely worth visiting, and, if you're staying in North Wales, why not stop by the picturesque village of Beddgelert and discover for yourself the legend of the faithful hound Gelert.

Wales is also steeped in history, and characterful historic properties define many of its towns and villages. And when you choose a log cabin for your next holiday to this beautiful part of the world, not only will you experience Wales on your own terms, but maybe you'll reside in a property with its own long history and story to tell!

Looking for somewhere dog friendly? You'll never have to leave your four-legged friend behind with us, as many of our holiday pads are pet-friendly lodges. As if things couldn't get any better, many of our lodges in Wales feature hot tubs to enjoy your stay too.

Take advantage of the region's surrounding areas and treat yourself to an impromptu break in one of our luxury lodges. Search lodges in Wales' most popular destinations right here:

What our customers say about their holidays

  • Julia - Verified booking

At first glance, the property seemed lovely & was nicely presented.

However, the twin beds need replacing, not only are the bases ripped, the children (7 & 12) found them hugely uncomfortable due to the springs being very prominent. I had to take the quilt out of the cover & lay it inder the bottom sheet. The worktop in the kitchen is hugely unhygienic. At the join, it is split & lifting up. If, in your own home this is how you have it, that's personal choice, but not acceptable to your paying guests. It was clear it hasn't just happened either. Basically, it needs a lot of tlc ie.damaged furniture replacing. When getting cutlery out, several pieces were dirty, so we washed it all (including the tray which had a lot more than cutlery in it!) & one of the wine glasses had bright lipstick on it, consequently, we washed everything before using it as it made us dubious about anything being clean, which was a shame. The WiFi was intermittent which meant the telly lagged a lot, which was frustrating but probably easily solved, we noticed a few people had commented the same in the guest book. There was a huge empty telly box, Christmas decs, cleaning equipment (upright hoover, mop & bucket etc) & bits of cupboard/shelving & so on in the main wardrobe which was annoying as it took up a fair chunk of valuable space. Particularly when there was a locked cupboard, presumably for cleaning stuff where some of it could've been housed.. All that being said, the park was in a gorgeous location, was quiet in the evenings (but FYI, they are doing the park up/putting more lodges in etc so lots of heavy equipment going past the lodge at 8ish a m, in case you didn't already know) & after a bit of money spent on replacing things the owners must already be aware of (lining on curtains or blinds as well) & more thoughtful reorganisation of their personal equipment, this lodge has the potential to be absolutely fantastic!

Firstly let me get the negatives out of the way and hopefully this will assist others that are looking to book this Lodge.

After a drive of 7 hours from Glasgow we arrived at this Lodge to find it cold and a musty smell. Heating was all switched off, free sat box did not work. No internet connection although when I did enquire I was given the code to connect to wifi however even though you had wifi you had no internet access. So had to use all data allowance on phones. No soap available and no toilet rolls. Once again the owner apologised for cleaner not leaving some. Think the cleaner had other things on their mind as there was dog hairs under the sofa and chairs. Duvet cover was and torn and needed replaced. However I don't think this is all down to the owner people who stay here need to accept some responsibility too if they don't clear up after themselves. Hob needs replaced as its seen better days and is old and engrained in dirt we never used it. If you are a large gent like me better to sleep in the two single beds rather than try and squeeze between wall and double bed to get to your side. Now it may sound as if I have nothing good to say about this lodge far from it. When heating was on it was cosy and snug. Beds were actually ok and able to sleep. Tv worked although did not go on a break to watch tv. New Quay only five minutes away by car, Cardigan bay 17 miles and Aberystwyth 20 miles. Local shop on site and PUb served food so was handy. What I will say is if you want a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle and have dogs ideal. Plenty of walks and you will need to be a driver to get around. Unfortunately due to circumstances we had to cut break short and return home to Scotland so had to leave 3 days early. Avoided all the bad weather.

Lawrence and Julie are wonderful hosts who made us feel so at home and like family.

They had thought of every little detail without going overboard and were there for anything we needed. The cabin itself is stunning and the location is breathtaking and we quite frankly can’t fault a single thing and didn’t want to go home. The bath outside is so fun and very private, they offer the use of their own gardens as well as being clued up on local walks and amenities. What topped it off is that they are aware just how rural they are and provide you with enough quality produce to give you a good breakfast your first morning there and the welcome basket is so thoughtful and such a treat. Lawrence showed us around and handed us some warm, freshly baked bread and then on our second day, we arrived back from a long hike to find a local Bara Brith cake with a candle in it and a birthday card for my husbands birthday! This place is truly magical and Lawrence and Julie are absolute angels. We will be back as many times as we can.

    Brilliant accommodation!

Clean comfortable and well equipped Nice and warm on chilly evenings and wrap around decking meant we could sit out at any time of day Welsh cakes and milk on arrival appreciated. Very comfy bed and good shower once we got the settings right. The water in kitchen VERY hot! Sofa and chairs comfy. TV in bedroom had better reception for extra channels and wifi a bit hit and miss but we didnt need it for anything important. Even though the lodge is near the entrance it felt private as on tiny cul de sac. Dog friendly and plenty of walks. On site bar and friendly pub in walking distance. Weekly film showings too.The site is being upgraded so workmen on site. They werent working near the lodge during our stay and we were out most of the day so it didnt affect us. Great base for touring the area . Bus stop nearby if you dont want to drive everywhere but not sure if dogs allowed on.

  • Miss Worrell - Verified booking

Idyllic and peaceful location with views over a wildflower hay meadow (in May) to woodland beyond, and the shepherd's hut was so warm and cosy that I think even in winter it would have been a great place to spend time. We spotted buzzards, kite and bats, and heard owls hooting at night. We explored the local area on foot and it really is a beautiful setting, with many walks straight from the door. Also a short drive to some bigger hills, where the views were just stunning. We had some great days out walking, along with evenings around the fire pit. The nearby Three Horseshoes pub serves a great Sunday roast, and it's only a short walk to the Canalside Cafe in the village, which does strong coffee, homemade cakes, breakfasts, lunches, and curries to eat in or take away, as well as being a shop and post office. A real asset in a lovely village.
