What our customers say about their holidays

We have just spent the Easter weekend at Dingle Den, 2 adults, two boys (a 12 year old and a 14 year old) and a 2 year old Labrador.
We were greeted so warmly by all of our names (even the dogs) and lent some walking books after enquiring in advance about local walks. Our dog is a nervous fella and Jo was very understanding and kept her very well behaved dog away and showed us how everything worked and we felt straight at home. The Den is finished to a really high standard and was immaculately clean. Complimentary logs, fire lighters, biscuits, tea, coffee and water made settling in really easy. There was also washing up liquid, hand soap, towels and tea towels. We brought food (and water because you canât drink the tap water) with us for our stay and there is a big enough fridge and storage. We barbecued on the fire pit in the evening which was great and sat on the logs around it to eat, one morning was warm enough to eat breakfast on the picnic table outside the Den doors which is a lovely option. The private space that comes with the Den is so much bigger than photos can do justice to. It is vast and beautiful. Although we were expecting a stream from reading the reviews we werenât expecting the amount of stream and the little waterfalls and it really made it for us. The boys (who are normally stuck to a screen) loved exploring it and the dog thought all of his Christmases had come at once! We could have happily not left the Den at all for the 3 days (we played boules and football and did an Easter egg hunt and mooched about the grounds) but we did venture out and the walks are beautiful and quiet. Walking boots at this time of year are essential. One days weather was very wet but when we got back from our walk the Den was warm and cozy and just looking out the doors at the view was lovely. With no TV and no WiFi I caught up on some reading (the kids had some signal on their phones so survived in our down time) We specifically chose Dingle Den because it was remote and we wanted to be able to take our dog who canât cope with strangers and it was absolutely perfect for recharging in a relaxing environment and we really hope to return (but maybe without the kids next time

Fabulous and quirky little holiday spot.
I spent very peaceful and relaxing week here with my 7month old puppy. He had a fantastic time playing in the secure garden. I must admit I when I booked it I didnât think Iâd spend much time here, I wanted to explore South Wales and this was reasonably priced ( holiday cottages are getting expensive for the solo traveller!) However itâs a beautiful spot and the carriage has everything you need and is so cosy. Luckily I had nice weather so I spent most evenings by the fire pit enjoying the tranquil surroundings. Only interrupted by the neighbouring horses looking for their carrots! If you get a clear night its great for stargazing. There are some lovely walks from the doorstep and plenty more only 10/20 min drive. The other property Rabbit Hill hut is just as lovely, I had a look round ( with permission!) The owners are friendly and helpful and gave me loads of advice on local places to visit. I could happily have spent another week here just chilling out and I was very sad to leave. Iâll just have to book again!

This is our third time here, so I think that says a lot in itself already!
Our dogs (Jess & Badger) constantly enjoy being out in the meadow + playing in the stream; itâs pretty enclosed, so itâs nice for us to allow them to be out and about, whilst we relax and donât need to worry about their whereabouts. The owner (Jo) has always been very welcoming and ensured we have everything we need & are happy/comfortable, each time weâve stayed. This is definitely going to become one of our regular holiday spots with the dogs⦠Again, I think thatâs pretty obvious! We do go out and about to neighbouring towns (like Hay-on-Wye & Abergavenny) but thereâs lots of walks right on the front doorstep of Dingle Den + weâve spent quite a lot of time just at the Dingle as itâs well equipped and has everything we need; going out to neighbouring towns isnât a necessity here, just an added option for those who like to explore and go to new places. Thanks again for a wonderful stay at Dingle Den! Iâm sure weâll see you again soon. Jo, Col, Jess & Baj

An exceptionally charming, warm and welcoming cabin - nestled in its own fenced off area (great for dogs!
!) within a lovely field with lots of wild life... what more could you want! Nicole has created an amazing place to stay and was so welcoming - we personally had a terrible journey causing us to be late checking in, but Nicole was so understanding and really helped us continue our holiday. Once we arrived we instantly understood this was a special place - we were able to take walks straight from the cabin, eat our meals out on the decking in the sun and spend cosy evenings warm in front of the telly (when the English weather came!). It's a great base location for various walks around the Brecon Beacons and beyond - we even made it to the Pembrokeshire Coast one day. We couldn't speak more highly of this place and have already recommended it to family, friends and colleagues - we cant wait to come back!!

Our mini holiday at Dingle Den was most enjoyable.
The property was clean throughout and comfortable and as described in the listing. The location was ideal for us for walking and is in close proximity to the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. The view around the property was amazing and the peace and tranquility of the area is just what we needed. There is a nice local pub The Bulls Head you can visit close by to Dingle Den and we enjoyed the lunchtime food. We also discovered a lovely local town called Hay-on Wye which we visited on a couple of occasions and if you like books then this is the place to visit. I would recommend Dingle Den as a place to stay on holiday if you are visiting the black mountains and the Brecon Beacons, or if you need some rest in a quiet and idilic location.
