This is a little gem on the Suffolk coast. The location is superb, we thought the position right next to the water was just delightful, a very peaceful place to watch the world go by. We enjoyed some lovely walks and enjoyed the fresh fish we bought from Samantha K's fish shop which is a stone's throw away. The cottage itself has 4 bedrooms, all of a decent size with plenty of blankets and interesting books to read. Some decor is a little tired and the kitchen is a bit higgledy piggledy but we found this all part of the charm and character of the place. We really enjoyed borrowing the binoculars for a spot of birdwatching and reading all the bird books to find out what we had seen! Overall, a gorgeous little spot which we would certainly return to.

Something magical about Southwold. Needed a lot more time to explore - even though there's nothing there! (Well, no Hanging Gardens of Babylon or herds of Wildebeest sweeping across the plain ...). Actually, everything is there, but on an unshowy, unpretentious small scale. The harbour (where we stayed) is strangely, scruffily, romantic; the cottage had all you'd want for accommodation & facilities - loads of books & games as well - & had a sort of low key quirky charm. Our little granddaugther decided that a 21 months she could walk to the beach and she did! The house is very clean and thoughtfully equipped with comfortable beds and sofas. The property is very well equipped with cutlery, kitchen utensils and pans, and has very comfortable sofas and beds. The extras like pictures and placemats are all high quality. The bathroom shower is excellent. The kitchen is short on space, and the downstairs toilet squeezed under the stairs, but these did not detract from our holiday at all. The location is just a short walk from the pier and beach and the town is just 10 min walk away.
